HOW TO USE

Connect your wallet (read-only, no transaction required) and select the target network. Enter the fork name, contract address, fork block number, and set the lookback blocks for upgrade history analysis. Click "generate readiness checklist" and the tool will verify the contract, analyze on-chain state and historical upgrade events, and generate a comprehensive readiness report. Results display a summary with fork details and readiness counts, detailed checklist cards showing each item's status and supporting data, and a table of all checklist items with statuses. Use the report to identify gaps, prioritize actions, and coordinate with your team before the hard fork.

TECHNICAL MECHANISM

The generator uses ethers.js v5.7.2 to perform a multi-stage readiness analysis. First, it calls eth_getCode to verify the target contract is deployed and uses block explorer APIs to fetch verification status and source code. The tool then queries current block information to compare against the specified fork block number. The tool analyzes each checklist item: contract upgrade status (based on version history and compatibility), fork block verification (comparing current block to fork block), validator readiness (analyzing validator set and upgrade participation), client software version (from on-chain version data), staking requirements (from staking contract state), and documentation/communication status (from GitHub repository data when available). Each item is assigned a status: ready (if requirements are met), pending (if requirements are partially met or in progress), or blocked (if critical requirements are not met). An overall readiness percentage is calculated based on the number of ready items divided by the total number of items. Results are compiled into a structured report with detailed checklist information and status indicators.

WHAT IT CANNOT SEE

This tool cannot predict actual hard fork adoption rates or validator participation—it generates a readiness checklist based on on-chain data and user-provided parameters. It is limited by the RPC provider's rate limits and block range availability for historical log queries. It cannot account for off-chain coordination, client software readiness, or emergency response times that may affect actual fork readiness. The analysis relies on the accuracy and completeness of on-chain event data and block timestamps; incomplete logs may produce an incomplete checklist. It cannot analyze contracts that are not verified or have opaque upgrade mechanisms where version information is not emitted. The tool is limited to the specific contracts and fork events that are accessible via RPC. It cannot guarantee that generated checklists reflect actual readiness without manual review and stakeholder input—the checklist is a template based on on-chain data and common readiness criteria, not a definitive assessment.
