About this app

WHAT IT DOES

Hegic Options Trader provides direct, non-custodial access to the Hegic options protocol on EVM-compatible blockchains. It enables options trading, position management, and liquidity pool interactions. The tool reads Hegic contract state, options pool state, option position state, premium state, strike price state, expiry state, settlement state, liquidity pool state, collateral state, user position state, chain ID, block timestamp, and gas price. It writes buyOption, exercise, settle, deposit, withdraw, stake, unstake, claim, approve, and transfer. All operations are signed and broadcast through your connected wallet — funds never leave your control.

HOW TO USE

Connect your EVM-compatible wallet (MetaMask, WalletConnect, or similar) using the wallet bridge. Select the network that matches the Hegic deployment you wish to use (Ethereum Mainnet, Polygon, Avalanche, Arbitrum, Optimism, or others). Paste the Hegic contract address — the tool does not hardcode any address, giving you full control to use official Hegic deployments or fork contracts. Choose your action from the dropdown: buy an option, exercise an option, settle an option, deposit into a liquidity pool, withdraw from a pool, stake, unstake, or claim rewards. Enter the pool address, asset address, amount, strike price, expiry timestamp, and option type (call or put). Click Review to verify all parameters before signing. The tool shows a clear summary of the transaction, then signs and broadcasts through your wallet with progress tracking.

HOW IT WORKS UNDER THE HOOD

The tool uses a dynamic gas estimation strategy that adapts to network conditions. Before each transaction, it calls estimateGas on the chosen method with the exact parameters, then adds a 20% buffer to avoid out-of-gas failures. For buyOption, the tool calls the Hegic contract with the pool, asset, premium amount, strike price, expiry, and option type — this creates a new options position. Exercise allows the user to exercise an option at expiry, while settle closes out the position. Deposit and withdraw manage liquidity pool positions, providing premium income to liquidity providers. Stake and unstake manage Hegic token positions, and claim harvests accumulated rewards. The tool constructs the appropriate transaction data for each Hegic action. After broadcasting, the tool waits for the transaction receipt using ethers.js wait() with confirmation tracking. It uses receipt.effectiveGasPrice for accurate cost reporting, not tx.gasPrice — critical for post-EIP-1559 networks.

WHAT IT CANNOT SEE

The tool cannot predict future option prices or premiums; prices are determined by market dynamics and volatility. It cannot guarantee that the option will be exercised or settle favorably; option settlement depends on market conditions at expiry. It cannot verify that the option price data is accurate or not manipulated; the tool reads price data but does not validate its integrity. It cannot detect if the pool has been exploited or if there are security vulnerabilities in the option contracts; the tool only reads state and executes authorized transactions. It cannot guarantee that the liquidity pool will have sufficient funds to honor option exercises; pool liquidity depends on deposits and trading activity. It cannot predict the future price of the underlying asset; prices are determined by market dynamics.

PLEASE NOTE

This tool works exclusively with EVM-compatible blockchains where Hegic is deployed. It does not support non-EVM chains. Always verify the contract address against official Hegic documentation before use. Using incorrect addresses may result in loss of funds. The tool is provided as-is with no warranty of any kind. Options trading involves significant risk including total loss of premium. Liquidity provision carries risk of impermanent loss and option exercise losses.
