About this app

WHAT IT DOES

The Impermanent Loss Insurance Purchase Tool enables acquisition of insurance coverage against impermanent loss in liquidity pool positions. It reads comprehensive state from insurance and pool contracts including coverage amount, premium amount, coverage period, policy status (pending, active, expired), coverage start and end times, deductible amounts, claim eligibility, impermanent loss metrics, price volatility, policy holder addresses, platform fees, and policy history. Users can purchase insurance using multiple methods: purchaseInsurance with auto-renew, buyCoverage for standard coverage, acquirePolicy with full terms, or takeProtection for simplified purchase. The tool displays current coverage, premium, deductible, impermanent loss metrics, and policy history, providing full visibility before purchasing IL protection.

HOW TO USE

Connect your Web3 wallet and paste the insurance contract address and pool contract address. The tool never hardcodes addresses—you specify the contracts you're vouching for. Enter your LP position amount, select the purchase method, specify the coverage period in days, and optionally set a premium amount (auto-calculated at 0.5% per month if left at 0). Check "Approve token spending" to handle approvals automatically or "Auto-renew policy" for automatic renewal. Click "Fetch insurance state" to view policy holder, coverage amount, premium paid, policy status, coverage start/end dates, deductible, claim eligibility, impermanent loss percentage, platform fee, and your policy history. Review the displayed state and IL metrics carefully—insurance protects your LP position against impermanent loss during the coverage period. Click "Purchase insurance" to submit the purchase transaction. Transaction status, gas costs, and confirmation are displayed upon completion.

MECHANICAL ADVANTAGE: DUAL-CONTRACT STATE AGGREGATION WITH POLICY DISCOVERY

Unlike hardcoded insurance tools that only read from a single contract, this tool simultaneously aggregates state from both insurance and pool contracts, fetching nine different data points in parallel using Promise.all with individual error boundaries. This ensures that a revert in one view function doesn't prevent retrieval of other critical metrics. The tool automatically discovers policy history by iterating through policy indices until it hits empty entries (capped at 10 for performance), displaying policy IDs, coverage amounts, premiums, and status for full transparency. The tool dynamically selects the appropriate purchase method based on user input—purchaseInsurance with auto-renew, buyCoverage for standard, acquirePolicy with full terms, and takeProtection for simplified purchase. Gas estimation factors in purchase method complexity, and the tool uses receipt.effectiveGasPrice post-transaction for accurate cost reporting rather than relying on the pre-EIP-1559 gasPrice cap. Premiums are auto-calculated if not specified, and impermanent loss metrics are displayed for informed decision-making.

WHAT IT CANNOT SEE

This tool cannot verify that the insurance contract or pool contract is legitimate or has not been compromised. It cannot detect if the insurance parameters have been manipulated or if the contracts have been upgraded or modified. Insurance purchase may not execute at optimal gas price due to network conditions or succeed if the contract is paused or frozen. The tool cannot recover funds if execution fails due to contract bugs or insufficient approval. It cannot verify that insurance parameters are valid, predict gas prices during congestion, or detect if the purchase has been front-run. The tool cannot ensure that claims will be paid, verify off-chain price calculations, or provide financial or investment advice. It cannot guarantee that coverage will be honored, verify the accuracy of impermanent loss calculations, ensure that all conditions for coverage are met, or track insurance status outside of the tool. Impermanent loss insurance is only as reliable as the underlying insurance contract—claims may be subject to conditions and limitations.

PLEASE NOTE

This tool operates on EVM-compatible chains only. It reads from and writes to insurance contracts but provides no financial or investment advice. All insurance purchase decisions remain your responsibility. Always verify contract addresses, position amounts, and premium terms before submitting transactions. The tool displays current state but does not automatically purchase—you must review and confirm each transaction through your wallet. Gas costs vary by network conditions; the tool estimates but cannot guarantee optimal pricing. Premiums are typically paid in the pool's token—ensure you have sufficient balance. Coverage periods, deductibles, and claim processes are contract-specific—understand the policy terms before purchasing.
