About this app
WHAT IT DOES
Jira Issue Table Exporter scans Jira pages for issue tables—backlog views, board views, filter views, search views—and exports the visible issue data to CSV format. It extracts column headers and row data including issue keys, summaries, statuses, priorities, assignees, reporter names, issue types, created dates, updated dates, story points, and custom fields shown in the current view. The tool handles Jira's standard table structure, identifies dynamic content, and generates a clean, downloadable CSV file. You can choose to include headers, trim whitespace from cell content, and select your preferred delimiter (comma, semicolon, or any custom character).
WHERE IT RUNS
This tool runs as a userscript inside the BotGentz extension on any Atlassian Jira domain (*.atlassian.net). All processing happens locally in your browser—no data is sent to external servers. It works on Jira's backlog views, board views, filter views, search views, and custom issue table views.
HOW TO USE
Navigate to any Jira page that contains an issue list—the backlog, a board, a filter view, a search results page, or a custom view. Open the panel and click "Refresh Table List" to detect all issue tables on the page. Select the table you want to export from the dropdown. Click "Export CSV" to download the file, or "Copy CSV" to copy the data directly to your clipboard. Use the settings to customize your export: toggle headers, trim whitespace, or change the delimiter. The tool will remember your preferences across sessions.
TECHNICAL MECHANISM
The tool uses a multi-selector approach to identify Jira issue tables. It targets Jira-specific table attributes like data-testid="issue-table" and issue-table classes, along with common Jira table classes (agile-issue-table, issue-list table) and role="grid" tables. It also detects tables containing issue-related keywords in their text content (issue, key, summary, status, priority, assignee, reporter, story points). Once a table is found, the tool extracts headers from thead or th elements and rows from tbody or tr elements. It sanitizes cell content by removing hidden characters and special formatting that often appear in Jira tables, ensuring clean CSV output. The CSV generation escapes special characters, wraps fields in quotes when needed, and adds a UTF-8 BOM for Excel compatibility.
THE PANEL
The panel can be dragged anywhere on screen, snapped to the edge, resized, collapsed, and closed with Escape. It remembers its position per site and stays out of your way until you need it.
PLEASE NOTE
This tool requires the free BotGentz extension to run. It exports the current visible issue list only; Jira loads issues dynamically as you scroll, so not all issues may be captured without scrolling. Jira's table structures vary across versions and custom configurations. Sites change frequently; if the tool stops working on a particular page, it may need updating. All processing is local—no data is collected or transmitted.
