About this app

WHAT IT DOES

Kusama Network Monitor provides comprehensive visibility into the live state of the Kusama network. It reads and displays network status showing connected and operational states, current block height with real-time updates, block hash for verification, block timestamp for timing, block author identifying the block producer, validator set for the current era, validator election status for active nominations, active validator count for network participation, total bonded stake across all validators, network staking rate showing stake-to-issuance ratio, treasury balance for available funds, treasury spend history for audit, network events tracking all on-chain activity, extrinsic count for transaction volume, transaction volume for network activity, network fee statistics for cost analysis, runtime version for compatibility, chain state for overall health, session information for current session, era information for epoch tracking, epoch duration for timing, nominator count for participation, validator performance metrics for reliability, slashing events for misbehavior detection, governance referenda for active proposals, council member list for representation, technical committee for technical decisions, motion status for governance progress, bounty status for funded projects, parachain count for ecosystem growth, HRMP channel count for cross-chain connectivity, XCM transfer volume for cross-chain activity, total issuance for supply tracking, inflation rate for monetary policy, and network hash rate for security. All data is organized in a clean dashboard with network status indicators, validator statistics, treasury information, and parachain metrics.

HOW TO USE

Connect your wallet to the tool and select the network where you want to monitor Kusama state. Enter the Kusama RPC endpoint in the input field. Click "Monitor Network" to connect to the Kusama network and retrieve current state. The tool will query the network for block height, validator set, staking statistics, treasury balance, and parachain information. Results are displayed in organized cards showing network status, block height, block hash, block author, active validators, total bonded stake, staking rate, treasury balance, parachain count, total issuance, inflation rate, and HRMP channel count. The tool works with any Kusama-compatible endpoint.

THE MECHANISM

Kusama Network Monitor performs client-side simulation of network monitoring by aggregating state information from various Kusama network components. The tool connects to the specified endpoint and queries network state including current block information, validator set, and staking statistics. Block height and hash are obtained from chain state queries. Validator set information is retrieved from staking and session modules. Bonded stake totals and staking rates are calculated from nomination and validator data. Treasury balance is queried from the treasury module. Parachain counts and HRMP channels are obtained from paras and hrmp modules. Total issuance and inflation rates are derived from the balances and inflation modules. The tool simulates the process of connecting to a Kusama node, establishing a subscription, and querying multiple storage items efficiently.

WHAT IT CANNOT SEE

Kusama Network Monitor cannot verify that the network data is accurate without running a full node, as it relies on the RPC endpoint for data. The tool cannot detect if the network is under active attack or experiencing consensus issues, as that requires monitoring validator behavior and network conditions. It cannot predict future network conditions or validator performance, as those depend on future events. The tool cannot verify that all reported events are legitimate or complete, as event logs may be filtered. It cannot guarantee that the network will remain stable or responsive, as network conditions may change.

PLEASE NOTE

Kusama Network Monitor supports EVM-compatible chains only. The tool is a client-side simulation and does not execute or deploy code to any blockchain. Network monitoring results are for observation and diagnostics only. The tool is free to use and does not store or transmit any network data off-device. Always verify RPC endpoints from official sources before relying on results.
