About this app
WHAT IT DOES
Language Tone Localizer extracts selected text or page content and uses advanced AI to adapt it to match the linguistic and cultural norms of a specified target audience or region. It adjusts vocabulary, spelling, idioms, formality level, and cultural references to ensure your content resonates with readers in different English-speaking regions. Whether you're localizing marketing copy, business communications, or general content, this tool makes your writing feel natural and culturally appropriate for your target audience.
WHERE IT RUNS
This tool operates as a userscript within the BotGentz extension framework, running directly in your browser on any website. It works on marketing materials, business communications, social media posts, content management systems, and virtually any text-based content you need to localize. The tool integrates seamlessly into your workflow, appearing as a draggable panel that stays accessible as you write and edit.
HOW TO USE
Select text on the page and click "Get Text" to extract it automatically, or paste content directly into the panel. Select your target locale from eight options (United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, India, South Africa, Ireland, or New Zealand). Choose your preferred formality level (Formal, Informal, or Neutral). Toggle format localization on or off to automatically convert measurements, dates, and currency formats to match the target region. Click "Localize Text" to send the content to the AI backend. Within moments, you'll receive a localized version of your text that reads naturally for your target audience. Use the "Copy Localized Text" button to paste it wherever you need.
TECHNICAL OPERATION
Language Tone Localizer employs a multi-strategy extraction pipeline that first checks for selected text, then attempts WebMCP (navigator.modelContext) when available—a W3C proposal for structured page content access—and falls back to full-page content extraction. The user's locale selection, formality preference, and format localization setting are encoded as system-level instructions in the prompt sent to the AI. The text is truncated to 8000 characters and transmitted via GM_xmlhttpRequest to the AI backend. The AI, specifically prompted as a language localization specialist, analyzes the text for region-specific markers including vocabulary choices (e.g., "color" vs "colour"), idioms and expressions ("lift" vs "elevator"), spelling conventions, and cultural references. It applies regional transformations while preserving the original meaning and intent, adjusting formality levels through word choice and sentence structure, and converting measurement units, date formats, and currency symbols when enabled. The output maintains the original structure while being culturally optimized for the target region. Each request is authenticated with a subscription key and counts against your monthly usage cap.
THE PANEL
The Language Tone Localizer panel is fully draggable and remembers its position between sessions using GM_setValue. It snaps to the edge of the viewport for a clean interface and can be collapsed to a small icon when not in use. The panel is resizable to accommodate longer content. Press Escape to quickly close or collapse the panel. The design is optimized for productivity with a dark theme, clear visual hierarchy, and responsive controls that adapt to your workflow.
PLEASE NOTE
This tool requires the free BotGentz extension installed in your browser and an active subscription to access the AI backend. AI-generated localizations are intended as aids for regional adaptation and should be reviewed for cultural appropriateness and accuracy before publication. The tool may not capture all regional nuances, and some references may require additional refinement. Always verify localizations with local experts when precision matters. No page data is stored or transmitted beyond the content you explicitly submit for localization. All processing occurs through secure HTTPS connections, and your subscription key is never exposed to the page context.
