About this app

WHAT IT DOES

Light Node Launcher is a developer tool that simulates the configuration and launch of a light Ethereum node. Select the network (Ethereum Mainnet, Sepolia, Goerli, or Holesky), choose the sync mode (Light for fastest sync, Snap for balanced, or Full for complete verification), set storage limits (10-100 GB), and configure the P2P port. The tool generates a simulated node launch with a node ID, endpoint URL, sync status, peer count, and data directory path. This is essential for developers planning light node deployments, understanding resource requirements, or learning about different sync modes and network configurations.

HOW TO USE

Connect your wallet using the BGWallet bridge (MetaMask or any Web3 wallet). Select the network — Ethereum Mainnet, Sepolia, Goerli, or Holesky. Choose the sync mode — Light (fastest, minimal data), Snap (balanced speed and data), or Full (complete verification, more data). Set the storage limit — 10, 20, 50, or 100 GB. Configure the P2P port (default 30303). Click "Launch light node" to simulate the launch. Results display the node status (Running with a status dot), node ID, network, sync mode with a color-coded badge, storage limit, port, and endpoint URL. The output shows additional details: node type, data directory, peer discovery status, estimated sync progress, and peer count. This is useful for understanding the configuration and expected behavior of a light node.

TECHNICAL MECHANISM

The tool simulates light node launch using client-side logic. It generates a unique node ID based on the current timestamp and a random string. It constructs a local endpoint URL using the configured port. The sync mode determines the badge color and sync speed label. The tool simulates sync progress with a random header count and peer count. It does not actually launch any node software — the simulation is for demonstration and planning purposes. The tool does not require node software installation or network configuration. All operations are performed client-side — no data is stored or transmitted. The tool is read-only and does not sign any transactions.

WHAT IT CANNOT SEE

The tool cannot actually launch a light node without a local installation of the node software — the launch is a simulation. It cannot configure network peering or discovery automatically — the simulation does not include peer management. It cannot handle node synchronization errors or connection failures — the simulation always succeeds. It cannot provide real-time node status or logs — the simulation is static. It cannot manage node updates or upgrades — the simulation does not include maintenance. It cannot detect network connectivity issues or firewall configurations. The tool is read-only and does not sign any transactions.

PLEASE NOTE

This tool works exclusively with EVM-compatible chains for the wallet connection, but the light node simulation is chain-agnostic. Solana, Tron, Starknet, SUI, TON, Aptos, Bitcoin, Cosmos, and XRP are not supported for wallet connection but the simulation works regardless. The tool provides a simulation — for real light node deployment, use Geth, Nethermind, or other Ethereum clients. The tool does not store any data — all operations are performed client-side. The tool is provided as-is with no warranty or liability. Always verify system requirements and network configurations before deploying real nodes.
