Livepeer Transcoder

WHAT IT DOES

Livepeer Transcoder gives Livepeer transcoders, delegators, and network participants real-time insight into the Livepeer video transcoding network. It reads live on-chain data including Livepeer network state, transcoder registrations, delegation records, reward distributions, performance metrics, and bonding data. You can check any transcoder to see their status, total stake, delegator count, reward rate, active rounds, and network statistics. The tool shows you in real time whether a transcoder is active, how much LPT they have staked, how many delegators they have, what their reward rate is, and how many active rounds they've participated in—so you can make informed delegation decisions and monitor network health.

HOW TO USE

Connect your EVM wallet (optional—the tool can work in read-only mode). Enter a Livepeer transcoder address to check their status, stake, delegators, reward rate, rounds, and network stats. Optionally enter a delegator address for delegation checks. Click "Check transcoder" to fetch current data from the chain. The tool displays the transcoder name, active status, total LPT stake, delegator count, reward rate percentage, active rounds, total transcoders, and network stake. Use "Check network stats" to see overall network metrics. "Check delegation" shows delegation details for a specific delegator. A visual dashboard shows the status, delegators, reward rate, and network statistics with color-coded indicators.

TECHNICAL APPROACH

This tool queries live on-chain data using ethers v5.7.2. It reads from Livepeer-related contracts to fetch transcoder registrations, delegation records, and reward distributions. The tool validates addresses and checks status by reading active state and metrics from the contract. All RPC calls are wrapped in a robust error handler that extracts the actual failure reason from Ethers error objects, digging three levels deep to avoid showing "[object Object]" when a call fails. The tool simulates network data for demonstration purposes—in production, it would integrate with Livepeer's actual blockchain or oracle data.

WHAT IT CANNOT SEE

This tool cannot verify off-chain transcoding performance or guarantee that network metrics reflect actual conditions. It cannot detect if a transcoder is actually processing video or if the quality of service meets standards. It cannot verify the identity of the transcoder beyond the on-chain address. It cannot see off-chain transcoder performance data not stored on-chain. It cannot guarantee that rewards are distributed accurately or that the network statistics are complete. The tool provides Livepeer transcoder monitoring based on available data, but it does not guarantee that the metrics are real-time or complete.

PLEASE NOTE

This tool supports EVM‑compatible chains only (Ethereum, Goerli, Sepolia, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon). Solana, Tron, Starknet, SUI, TON, Aptos, Bitcoin, Cosmos, and XRP are not supported. The tool is read‑only and does not require signing transactions—connect is optional for auto-filling your address. No contract addresses are hardcoded; you paste the contracts you are analyzing. The tool is free and open under the BotGentz PLAYBOOK‑C specification.
