About this app
WHAT IT DOES
Messari Data Fetcher provides comprehensive read-only access to Messari's intelligence platform for crypto assets. Retrieve detailed asset profiles with project descriptions, token symbols, categories, and launch dates. Access real-time and historical market data including price, 24h price change, volume, market cap, fully diluted valuation, and high/low ranges. Fetch on-chain metrics such as active addresses, transaction counts, daily transaction volume, average transaction value, fees paid, and unique wallet counts. View token supply metrics including circulating supply, total supply, max supply, inflation rate, staked supply, and burned supply. Access exchange flow data showing net flows, exchange balances, top exchanges, and 24h inflow/outflow. Retrieve treasury balances with asset breakdowns and monthly income/spend. View validator data including total validators, active validators, commission rates, average stake, and uptime. Access DeFi protocol data with TVL, protocol breakdowns, and volume metrics. Review project fundamentals including development activity, GitHub commits, developer count, social metrics, and security scores.
HOW TO USE
1. Connect your Web3 wallet (Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, BSC, or any EVM-compatible chain).
2. Select the network that matches your target chain from the dropdown.
3. Enter an asset symbol or slug in the input field (e.g., "eth", "bitcoin", "uniswap").
4. Choose the data type you want to fetch: asset profile, market data, on-chain metrics, token supply, exchange flows, treasury balances, validator data, DeFi protocol data, or project fundamentals.
5. Click "fetch data" to retrieve the information from Messari's API.
6. Review the results displayed in a structured format showing key metrics and values.
7. Use the "copy JSON" button to export the complete data for further analysis or integration.
TECHNICAL MECHANISM
Messari Data Fetcher interacts with Messari's public API endpoints to retrieve asset intelligence data. The tool constructs API requests using the provided asset slug and data type, leveraging Messari's standardized data structures. For asset profiles, the tool queries the asset metadata endpoint to retrieve project information. For market data, it accesses the market stats endpoint which provides real-time pricing and volume data. For on-chain metrics, it queries the metrics endpoint which aggregates blockchain activity data. The tool parses the JSON responses and transforms them into a user-friendly display format, automatically detecting and formatting numeric values, percentages, and currency values. The tool includes intelligent grouping of related metrics and presents them with appropriate labels and formatting. Exchange flow data is presented with positive/negative indicators to show net flows. Treasury balances display asset breakdowns in a structured table format. Validator data shows key staking metrics with uptime percentages. The tool handles different response structures gracefully and provides clear feedback during the fetch operation. All data is normalized and presented consistently regardless of the source chain.
WHAT IT CANNOT SEE
This tool is a frontend for the Messari API — it does not validate data accuracy, verify completeness, or detect inconsistencies between Messari's data and actual on-chain state. The tool cannot guarantee that data has been updated recently or that metrics reflect current market conditions. It cannot validate on-chain data aggregation accuracy or confirm that all assets have complete profiles. The tool cannot detect if Messari's data sources have been compromised or if there are errors in the data aggregation algorithms. All data is presented as provided by Messari — if the API returns incomplete, outdated, or incorrect information, this tool will display it without warning. The tool cannot predict market trends or provide real-time data beyond Messari's update frequency. It cannot fetch data for assets not covered by Messari's platform or for non-EVM chains.
PLEASE NOTE
Messari Data Fetcher supports EVM-compatible blockchains only (Ethereum Mainnet, Goerli, Polygon, Arbitrum One, Optimism, BNB Smart Chain, and others via network selection). The tool requires a Messari API key — in this implementation, it uses a simulated key for demonstration purposes. For production use, you must provide your own Messari API key. The tool never submits transactions or signs messages; it is strictly read-only. Data fetch performance depends on Messari's API response times and your network connection. Some assets may have limited data depending on Messari's coverage and the specific data type requested.
