About this app

WHAT IT DOES

Nansen Label Manager provides read-only access to Nansen's comprehensive labeling system for blockchain addresses. Retrieve wallet labels that identify known entities (whales, exchanges, hackers), contract labels that categorize smart contracts (DEX routers, lending protocols, bridges), token labels with full metadata (symbol, name, decimals, type), NFT collection labels with collection details, entity categories (DeFi user, NFT collector, exchange), risk scores (Low/Medium/High), transaction annotations, and smart contract metadata. The tool consolidates Nansen's rich labeling data into a clean, structured view that helps you quickly understand who or what you're interacting with on-chain.

HOW TO USE

1. Connect your Web3 wallet (Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, BSC, or any EVM-compatible chain).

2. Select the network that matches your target chain from the dropdown.

3. Enter a wallet address or contract address in the input field.

4. Choose the label type you want to retrieve: all labels, wallet labels, contract labels, token labels, or NFT collection labels.

5. Click "look up labels" to fetch the information from Nansen's API.

6. Review the results displayed in a structured format showing entity name, category, risk score, tags, and individual label entries with confidence scores.

7. Use the "copy JSON" button to export the complete label data for further analysis or integration.

TECHNICAL MECHANISM

Nansen Label Manager interacts with Nansen's labeling API, which aggregates on-chain data from multiple sources to build comprehensive address profiles. The tool constructs API requests using the provided address and chain ID (derived from the network selection). Nansen's API returns structured JSON responses containing labels organized by type (entity, behavior, risk, category), each with a confidence score indicating the reliability of the classification. The tool parses these responses, extracts labels by type, and presents them in a user-friendly format with color-coded risk indicators (green for Low, yellow for Medium, red for High) and confidence percentages. For addresses with multiple labels, the tool groups them by type and displays the most relevant ones first. The tool includes a simulated rate-limiting awareness and provides clear feedback during the fetch operation. The labeling system is backed by Nansen's proprietary algorithms that combine transaction pattern analysis, contract interaction tracking, and cross-referenced data from public sources to assign meaningful labels to addresses.

WHAT IT CANNOT SEE

This tool is a frontend for the Nansen API — it does not validate label accuracy, verify completeness, or detect inconsistencies between Nansen's labels and actual on-chain behavior. The tool cannot guarantee that labels have been updated recently or that they reflect current wallet activity. It cannot validate entity classification accuracy or risk assessment reliability. The tool cannot ensure that all addresses have labels — many addresses may have no labels at all. It cannot detect if Nansen's labeling algorithms have produced false positives or missed important classifications. All labels are presented as provided by Nansen — if the API returns incorrect, incomplete, or stale labels, this tool will display them without warning. The tool cannot predict labeling confidence or determine if a label is based on sufficient data. It cannot provide real-time labeling for newly active addresses or detect if a wallet's behavior has changed since the last labeling update.

PLEASE NOTE

Nansen Label Manager supports EVM-compatible blockchains only (Ethereum Mainnet, Goerli, Polygon, Arbitrum One, Optimism, BNB Smart Chain, and others via network selection). The tool requires a Nansen API key — in this implementation, it uses a simulated key for demonstration purposes. For production use, you must provide your own Nansen API key. The tool never submits transactions or signs messages; it is strictly read-only. Label retrieval performance depends on Nansen's API response times and your network connection. Some addresses may have limited or no labeling data depending on Nansen's coverage.
