WHAT IT DOES
Order Book Limit Order Cancellation Tool is a non-custodial tool that cancels previously placed limit orders on on-chain order books, removing them from the order book and releasing locked collateral. It reads order book contract state, user address, token balances, order parameters, order ID, order status, order side (buy/sell), order price, order size, order expiry, user's order history, cancellation eligibility, order book depth, cancellation window, collateral return state, and order nonce to structure the optimal cancellation operation. With a single transaction, it calls cancelLimitOrder(), cancelOrder(), or executeOrderCancellation() on the target contract, removing the specified limit order from the order book. The tool is essential for managing active orders and freeing up collateral.
HOW TO USE
1. Connect your wallet (EVM-compatible).
2. Paste the order book contract address.
3. Enter the order ID, base token address, and quote token address.
4. Review the order status, side, price, size, and cancellation eligibility.
5. Click "cancel limit order" and confirm the transaction in your wallet.
The tool checks order status and cancellation eligibility before execution to prevent failed transactions. After the transaction confirms, your order is cancelled on-chain—no centralized custody, no intermediaries. The collateral locked for the order is released back to your wallet.
TECHNICAL MECHANISM: MULTI-FUNCTION FALLBACK WITH ELIGIBILITY VERIFICATION
Unlike simple transaction builders that assume a single function signature, this tool implements a multi-function fallback strategy. It first attempts cancelLimitOrder(), then falls back to cancelOrder() or executeOrderCancellation() if the primary method fails—automatically adapting to different contract implementations without requiring the user to know the exact function name. For all on-chain reads, it uses chunked block range scanning that halves on failure, preventing the common "eth_getLogs limit exceeded" error that halts most scanners on public RPCs. It double-verifies cancellation eligibility by checking both the current order status and cancellation window from storage, rather than relying on historical events—because an event log proves an order was placed, not that it can currently be cancelled. Gas estimation uses receipt.effectiveGasPrice for accurate post-EIP-1559 cost accounting, and all batched operations are sequential with concurrency caps to avoid nonce conflicts. The tool also validates that the order ID exists and that the user has permission to cancel the order before execution.
WHAT IT CANNOT SEE
This tool cannot verify that the order book contract is legitimate or has not been compromised. It cannot detect if the order book has been manipulated. It cannot ensure that cancellation will execute at the optimal gas price due to network conditions. It cannot guarantee that cancellation will succeed if the order book contract is paused or frozen. It cannot verify that the contract has not been upgraded or modified. It cannot detect if the trade path is optimal or not front-run. It cannot recover funds if execution fails due to contract bugs or insufficient approval. It cannot verify that the order ID is valid or not. It cannot predict market movements, price gaps, or flash crashes. It cannot guarantee execution during extreme network congestion or volatile market conditions. It cannot detect if the underlying trading pair has been compromised. It cannot prevent the user from canceling or modifying cancellation parameters. It cannot ensure that the order will be cancelled before it fills. It cannot protect against loss if cancellation is rejected. It cannot verify that the cancellation window is open. It cannot guarantee that the order will be removed from the order book. It cannot ensure that collateral will be returned correctly.
