About this app

WHAT IT DOES

The Parametric Crop Insurance Claim Tool enables submission of claims for agricultural insurance policies based on oracle-verified weather conditions. It reads comprehensive state from insurance, oracle, and weather data contracts including policy ID, coverage amount, premium paid, policy status (pending, active, expired, claimed), crop type, location coordinates, growing season dates, weather trigger parameters (rainfall threshold, temperature threshold, drought index), oracle weather data, claim eligibility, claim windows, claim status (none, pending, approved, rejected, paid), claim history, policy holder address, payout amount, platform fees, and crop yield estimates. Users can submit claims using multiple methods: claimInsurance with crop data, submitWeatherClaim for standard submission, verifyConditions with force option, or requestPayout for payout requests. The tool displays weather triggers, crop details, claim windows, and claim history, providing full visibility before submitting crop insurance claims.

HOW TO USE

Connect your Web3 wallet and paste the insurance contract address and weather data/oracle contract address. The tool never hardcodes addresses—you specify the contracts you're vouching for. Enter the policy ID, select the claim method, specify the crop type, and optionally provide additional claim data. Check "Approve token spending" to handle approvals automatically or "Force claim" to bypass eligibility checks. Click "Fetch claim state" to view policy holder, coverage amount, weather trigger, crop type, policy status, claim status, claim window, payout amount, platform fee, and claim history. Review the displayed weather triggers and crop data carefully—claims are triggered when oracle-verified weather conditions meet the defined thresholds. Click "Submit claim" to submit the claim transaction. Transaction status, gas costs, and confirmation are displayed upon completion.

MECHANICAL ADVANTAGE: TRIPLE-CONTRACT STATE AGGREGATION WITH WEATHER DATA INTEGRATION

Unlike hardcoded insurance tools that only read policy data, this tool simultaneously aggregates state from three contracts (insurance, oracle, and weather data contracts), fetching nine different data points in parallel using Promise.all with individual error boundaries. This ensures that a revert in one view function doesn't prevent retrieval of other critical metrics. The tool automatically discovers claim history by iterating through claim indices until it hits empty entries (capped at 10 for performance), displaying claimant addresses, amounts, crop types, and status for full transparency. The tool dynamically selects the appropriate claim method based on user input—claimInsurance with crop data, submitWeatherClaim for standard, verifyConditions with force, and requestPayout for payout requests. Gas estimation factors in claim method complexity, and the tool uses receipt.effectiveGasPrice post-transaction for accurate cost reporting rather than relying on the pre-EIP-1559 gasPrice cap. Weather triggers, crop types, and claim windows are displayed prominently, enabling informed claim decisions.

WHAT IT CANNOT SEE

This tool cannot verify that the insurance contract, oracle contract, or weather data contract is legitimate or has not been compromised. It cannot detect if the weather data has been manipulated or if the contracts have been upgraded or modified. Claim submission may not execute at optimal gas price due to network conditions or succeed if the contract is paused or frozen. The tool cannot recover funds if execution fails due to contract bugs or insufficient approval. It cannot verify that claim parameters are valid, predict gas prices during congestion, or detect if the claim has been front-run. The tool cannot ensure that the claim will be paid, verify off-chain weather data, or provide financial or investment advice. It cannot guarantee that coverage will be honored, verify the accuracy of weather data, ensure that all conditions for claims are met, or track claim status outside of the tool. Weather data depends on oracle feeds—claims may be rejected if oracle data does not confirm the trigger conditions.

PLEASE NOTE

This tool operates on EVM-compatible chains only. It reads from and writes to insurance and weather oracle contracts but provides no financial or investment advice. All claim decisions remain your responsibility. Always verify contract addresses, policy IDs, and crop data before submitting transactions. The tool displays current state but does not automatically submit claims—you must review and confirm each transaction through your wallet. Gas costs vary by network conditions; the tool estimates but cannot guarantee optimal pricing. Claims are subject to weather thresholds, claim windows, and oracle verification—ensure you meet all requirements before submitting. Parametric crop insurance pays based on objective weather data—claims are automatically verified by oracles when trigger conditions are met.
