WHAT IT DOES

Passport Renewal Status Tracker Overlay automatically detects passport renewal or application status on government tracking pages and displays a compact, color-coded overlay badge. The tool extracts the current status text and date, categorizes it as Approved, Processing, Pending, Rejected, or Issued, and color-codes the badge accordingly — green for approved, yellow for processing, orange for pending, red for rejected. It also maintains a status history log, tracks changes over time, and notifies you when the status changes, so you never miss an update.

This extension works on any website that displays passport status or application tracking information. It functions on government passport portals, visa tracking pages, and any official service status pages. The tool works across all domains and adapts to various page layouts and status display formats.

HOW TO USE

Install the extension and navigate to your passport renewal or application tracking page. The tool automatically detects your status and displays a compact badge in the bottom-right corner showing your current status with color-coding. Use the overlay panel to customize the experience: toggle the status badge on or off, toggle status history display on or off, toggle notifications on status change on or off, and toggle auto-refresh on or off. Click "Check Status Now" to manually refresh the status. The status area shows the current tracking state.

TECHNICAL SECTION — STATUS DETECTION AND TRACKING ENGINE

The extension uses a multi-strategy detection engine to find passport status information on government pages. It queries common status selectors (.status, .application-status, .passport-status) and scans text for status keywords including approved, processing, pending, rejected, issued, and others. Once found, the status is categorized and color-coded using a predefined mapping. The tool tracks status history by comparing the current status against the previous status and logging changes. Status history is stored in memory for the session and displayed in the badge. A configurable auto-refresh feature checks for status updates at regular intervals, and change notifications are sent via GM_notification when the status changes. The badge is created using DOM manipulation with inline CSS and can be toggled on or off.

THE PANEL — DRAG / PER-SITE POSITION / SNAP / COLLAPSE / RESIZE / ESCAPE

The overlay panel is fully interactive and designed for seamless multitasking. Drag it anywhere on the screen using the handle at the top of the panel; the position is saved per site so it stays where you left it across sessions. The panel includes a snap-to-edge feature that gently anchors the overlay to the nearest screen edge when released. Click the collapse button to minimize the panel to a compact pill showing the current status; expand it again with a single click. Resize the panel vertically by dragging the bottom-right corner to view more controls. Press the Escape key at any time to instantly close the overlay; it reappears on the next page navigation or refresh.

This extension requires the free BotGentz companion extension to function, as it provides the underlying content script injection and cross-origin communication framework. No personal data, browsing history, or application data is stored, transmitted, or shared. Status history is stored in memory for the current session only and is never sent to any external server. Settings are stored locally in your browser using GM_setValue and are never sent to any external server. The extension does not access or store login credentials, financial data, or personally identifiable information. The tool reads status information visible on the page and does not access any government API or private data. Status detection accuracy depends on the page structure and status format used by the specific government website. The tool is for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon as the sole source of status updates.
