About this app

WHAT IT DOES

The Perpetual Position Opener enables users to open leveraged perpetual positions on-chain. Perpetual contracts are derivative instruments that allow traders to speculate on asset prices with leverage without holding the underlying asset. This tool provides a streamlined interface to open perpetual positions with configurable margin amounts, leverage levels, and direction (long/short).

The tool reads perpetual contract state, position parameters, token balances, current price, price feeds/oracle data, margin amount, leverage, collateral token, funding rate, and liquidation price. It supports opening perpetual positions with configurable margin amounts, leverage levels, and direction. The tool handles the necessary approvals and submits the position opening transaction to the perpetual contract. It calculates and displays key position metrics including position size and liquidation price before execution.

HOW TO USE

1. Connect your wallet using the Connect button. The tool automatically detects your connected address and network.

2. Select the network where your perpetual contract is deployed using the network dropdown.

3. Enter the perpetual contract address, the collateral token address, and the margin amount.

4. Enter the leverage level (e.g., 2, 5, 10) and select the direction (Long or Short).

5. Configure your slippage tolerance percentage for the opening transaction.

6. Click "Preview position" to view the position size and liquidation price.

7. Review the position details in the preview panel including contract, collateral, margin, leverage, direction, position size, and liquidation price.

8. Click "Open Position" to submit the opening transaction through your wallet.

9. The tool will handle token approvals (if required) and open the position.

TECHNICAL MECHANISM

The tool interacts with the perpetual contract's position opening function, which typically takes the margin amount, leverage, and direction as parameters. Before opening, the tool verifies the user's balance of the collateral token and approves the perpetual contract to lock the required margin. The opening function then calculates the position size (margin * leverage) and opens the position, recording the entry price, liquidation price, and funding rate. The tool displays the position size and liquidation price to help users understand their risk. The position history records the transaction hash and position parameters.

WHAT IT CANNOT SEE

This tool cannot verify that the price feed is accurate or reliable; it relies on the perpetual contract's oracle. It cannot detect if the oracle has been compromised or manipulated. It cannot ensure that perpetual position opening will execute at the optimal price due to slippage, market volatility, and block timing. It cannot guarantee that open will succeed if the perpetual contract is paused or frozen. It cannot verify that the perpetual contract has not been upgraded or modified. It cannot detect if the open path is optimal or if the transaction is being front-run by malicious actors. It cannot recover funds if execution fails due to contract bugs, insufficient approvals, out-of-gas errors, or blockchain reorgs. It cannot verify that the collateral token is legitimate or not. It cannot predict market movements, price gaps, or flash crashes that may affect position value. It cannot guarantee execution during extreme network congestion, high gas prices, or volatile market conditions. It cannot detect if the underlying perpetual protocol has been compromised. It cannot prevent the user from canceling or modifying open parameters through other interfaces. It cannot ensure that leverage is appropriate or that liquidation risk is understood. It cannot guarantee that the position will be profitable or avoid liquidation. It cannot protect against funding rate costs or impermanent loss.

PLEASE NOTE

This tool is designed for EVM-compatible blockchains (Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, BSC, Avalanche, Fantom, and others). It requires an active wallet connection and sufficient native currency for gas fees. Always verify the perpetual contract address, collateral token address, and position parameters before executing. Leveraged positions carry significant risk—ensure you understand liquidation risk and funding rate costs before opening. The tool is provided as-is with no warranty; users assume full responsibility for their transactions and should exercise caution when opening perpetual positions. For mainnet usage, ensure the perpetual contract has been audited and you understand the risks of leveraged trading including liquidation, funding rates, and smart contract risks.
