About this app
WHAT IT DOES
Read Aloud Page Reader turns any webpage into an audiobook. It reads the visible text content of the current page aloud using your browser's built-in speech synthesis, highlighting each word or phrase as it's spoken so you can follow along. You can play, pause, stop, adjust reading speed and pitch, and choose from available system voices. The reader automatically skips navigation menus, ads, and hidden elements—it reads only the text you actually see on screen. Once you stop, it clears the highlights and stays ready for the next page.
WHERE IT RUNS
This script runs on any website you visit—news articles, blog posts, documentation, emails, or long-form content. It does not send your page text anywhere; all speech generation happens locally in your browser. No data leaves your computer. The script persists your settings (speed, pitch, voice, auto-read preference) across pages and browser sessions using GM_setValue, so your preferences stay exactly as you set them.
HOW TO USE
Install the script from the BotGentz store. Once active, open any webpage and click the Read Aloud Page Reader icon in your BotSurf panel. A compact panel appears with play/pause/stop controls. Tap "Play" to start reading from the top of the page, or use the "Read Page Now" button. Adjust speed (0.5x to 2.0x) and pitch using the sliders. Select a voice from the dropdown—your choice saves automatically. Enable "Auto-read on page load" to have the script start reading every new page immediately. The reader remembers your panel position per-site, so it stays where you left it.
TECHNICAL DETAIL
