Restake ETH on EigenLayer

WHAT IT DOES

This tool enables you to restake native ETH on EigenLayer, a protocol that extends Ethereum's cryptoeconomic security to Actively Validated Services (AVSs). It reads your current ETH balance on Ethereum Mainnet, the EigenLayer restaking contract details, and the current gas price to provide an accurate cost estimate before you commit. The tool then constructs and submits a transaction to the EigenLayer StrategyManager contract, depositing your specified amount of ETH to restake and secure AVSs.

Restaking allows you to reuse your staked ETH to secure multiple applications simultaneously, earning additional rewards while contributing to the security of the broader Ethereum ecosystem. The tool uses the official EigenLayer contract and is specifically designed for Ethereum Mainnet (chain ID 1), where EigenLayer is deployed.

HOW TO USE

Connect your wallet using the "connect" button. Ensure you are connected to Ethereum Mainnet (chain ID 1) — the tool will display your current chain ID, ETH balance, and any currently restaked ETH balance. Enter the amount of ETH you wish to restake in the input field. The tool will display the restaking contract address and estimate the gas cost for the deposit transaction.

Review the restake summary, then click "restake ETH on EigenLayer" to sign and submit the transaction through your wallet. The tool will wait for confirmation and display the transaction details on Etherscan. After the transaction is confirmed, your ETH will be restaked on EigenLayer and will begin securing AVSs. Rewards accrue automatically over time, and you can monitor your restaked balance through the tool's balance display.

TECHNICAL MECHANISM — EIGENLAYER NATIVE ETH RESTAKING

The tool interacts with the EigenLayer StrategyManager contract, which manages the deposit of native ETH for restaking purposes. The contract's depositETH() function accepts ETH as value and handles the underlying mechanics of depositing ETH into EigenLayer's restaking pool. This ETH is then used to secure Actively Validated Services (AVSs) that have opted into EigenLayer's shared security model.

When you deposit ETH through the StrategyManager, it is deposited into a strategy contract specific to ETH. The strategy tracks your shares, which represent your proportional ownership of the total restaked ETH pool. These shares are used to calculate your portion of rewards generated by AVSs. The restaking process involves slashing conditions — if an AVS you secure misbehaves, a portion of your restaked ETH could be slashed. This economic mechanism ensures AVSs have aligned incentives to behave correctly, as they rely on the restaked ETH for their security. The tool does not handle the withdrawal process, which requires a separate, multi-step exit through EigenLayer's withdrawal queue.

WHAT IT CANNOT SEE

This tool cannot estimate exact gas costs without a live RPC call, and gas prices on Ethereum Mainnet may change between quoting and execution. It cannot guarantee yield rates or rewards, as these depend on AVS participation and network conditions. The tool cannot verify the restaking contract address is correct beyond the pre-configured mapping, and if the mapping becomes outdated, the transaction could fail or be sent to the wrong contract. It cannot cancel a transaction once submitted, and if the transaction fails due to gas issues or contract errors, you may still pay gas fees. The tool cannot handle restaking of liquid staking tokens such as stETH, rETH, or cbETH — it only supports native ETH. It cannot interact with non-Ethereum chains or provide withdrawal or unstaking functionality, which requires a separate process through EigenLayer.

This tool works exclusively on Ethereum Mainnet (chain ID 1). You must be connected to Ethereum Mainnet to use this tool. It does not support other networks or layer 2 solutions. The tool only restakes native ETH — it does not support liquid staking tokens or other assets. Restaking involves slashing risk — your restaked ETH could be reduced if the AVSs you secure are slashed for misbehavior. Always verify the restaking contract address before submitting a transaction. This tool provides a simple deposit interface; withdrawals and unstaking are not supported and must be performed through EigenLayer's official mechanisms.
