About this app

WHAT IT DOES

Ribbon Finance Options Writer provides direct, non-custodial access to the Ribbon Finance options protocol on EVM-compatible blockchains. It enables option writing, vault management, premium collection, and settlement operations. The tool reads Ribbon contract state, vault state, option state, option position state, collateral state, premium state, strike price state, expiry state, settlement state, underlying asset state, pool state, TVL, chain ID, block timestamp, and gas price. It writes writeOption, deposit, withdraw, mint, burn, claim, exercise, settle, stake, unstake, and approve. All operations are signed and broadcast through your connected wallet — funds never leave your control.

HOW TO USE

Connect your EVM-compatible wallet (MetaMask, WalletConnect, or similar) using the wallet bridge. Select the network that matches the Ribbon Finance deployment you wish to use (Ethereum Mainnet, Optimism, Avalanche, Polygon, Arbitrum, or others). Paste the Ribbon contract address — the tool does not hardcode any address, giving you full control to use official Ribbon deployments or fork contracts. Choose your action from the dropdown: write an option, deposit into a vault, withdraw from a vault, mint vault tokens, burn vault tokens, claim rewards, exercise an option, settle an option, stake, or unstake. Enter the vault address, asset address, amount, strike price, and expiry timestamp for writeOption. Click Review to verify all parameters before signing. The tool shows a clear summary of the transaction, then signs and broadcasts through your wallet with progress tracking.

HOW IT WORKS UNDER THE HOOD

The tool uses a dynamic gas estimation strategy that adapts to network conditions. Before each transaction, it calls estimateGas on the chosen method with the exact parameters, then adds a 20% buffer to avoid out-of-gas failures. For writeOption, the tool calls the Ribbon contract with the vault, asset, amount, strike price, and expiry — this creates a covered call or put option position backed by collateral. Deposit and withdraw operations manage vault liquidity, while mint and burn create or destroy vault tokens. Claim harvests earned premiums and rewards. Exercise allows option holders to exercise at expiry, and settle closes out positions. The tool constructs the appropriate transaction data for each Ribbon action. After broadcasting, the tool waits for the transaction receipt using ethers.js wait() with confirmation tracking. It uses receipt.effectiveGasPrice for accurate cost reporting, not tx.gasPrice — critical for post-EIP-1559 networks.

WHAT IT CANNOT SEE

The tool cannot predict future option prices or premiums; prices are determined by market dynamics and volatility. It cannot guarantee that the option will be exercised or settle favorably; option settlement depends on market conditions. It cannot verify that the option price data is accurate or not manipulated; the tool reads price data but does not validate its integrity. It cannot detect if the vault has been exploited or if there are security vulnerabilities in the option contracts; the tool only reads state and executes authorized transactions. It cannot guarantee that the collateral will be sufficient to cover option obligations; collateral adequacy depends on market movements. It cannot predict the future price of the underlying asset; prices are determined by market dynamics.

PLEASE NOTE

This tool works exclusively with EVM-compatible blockchains where Ribbon Finance is deployed. It does not support non-EVM chains. Always verify the contract address against official Ribbon documentation before use. Using incorrect addresses may result in loss of funds. The tool is provided as-is with no warranty of any kind. Options writing involves significant risk including unlimited loss potential. Vault deposits carry smart contract risk and strategy performance risk.
