About this app

WHAT IT DOES

Scam Site Wallet Connection Blocker watches the current page for connection requests and reads the page's domain, URL, and metadata, then checks against a user-curated and community-sourced blocklist of known scam sites, and triggers an alert with a blocking overlay when a connection to a suspected scam site is detected, preventing wallet connection. It protects you from phishing attacks and scams that target cryptocurrency wallets.

WHERE IT RUNS

This tool operates as a userscript within the BotGentz extension framework, running directly in your browser on any website. It works on any page where wallet connections are attempted—Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, and more. The tool integrates seamlessly into your workflow, appearing as a draggable panel that stays accessible as you browse.

HOW TO USE

The tool automatically checks the current site against the blocklist when you navigate. If a scam site is detected, a blocking overlay appears with a warning and the site is blocked. You can add custom domains to block in the "Blocklist Management" section, and add domains to the allowlist to exempt trusted sites. Configure your settings: set the blocklist update interval, toggle auto-block on or off, and toggle detailed warnings. Use "Check Current Site" to manually check the site, or "Update Blocklist" to fetch the latest community-sourced blocklist. The panel displays the current domain status (Blocked or Safe) with color-coded indicators.

TECHNICAL OPERATION

Scam Site Wallet Connection Blocker reads the current page domain and URL from the browser's location API. It maintains a blocklist stored in GM_setValue that combines user-added custom entries with community-sourced blocklists fetched via GM_xmlhttpRequest from trusted sources (MetaMask and MyCrypto phishing detection repositories). The tool checks the domain against the blocklist and allowlist, with allowlist taking precedence. When a block is triggered, the tool displays a full-screen overlay with a warning message and blocks wallet connection requests by intercepting window.ethereum.request for eth_requestAccounts calls. The overlay includes a "Go Back to Safety" button that navigates away from the site. The tool auto-updates the blocklist at the user-defined interval and monitors URL changes to re-check sites.

THE PANEL

The Scam Site Wallet Connection Blocker panel is fully draggable and remembers its position between sessions using GM_setValue. It snaps to the edge of the viewport for a clean interface and can be collapsed to a small icon when not in use. The panel is resizable to accommodate longer content. Press Escape to quickly close or collapse the panel. The design is optimized for productivity with a dark theme, clear visual hierarchy, and responsive controls that adapt to your workflow.

PLEASE NOTE

This tool requires the free BotGentz extension installed in your browser and a real EVM wallet extension (MetaMask, Rabby, etc.) already installed. EVM chains only—this does not work on non-EVM blockchains. The tool cannot detect scam sites that are not on the blocklist, cannot block connections initiated directly from the wallet extension UI, cannot prevent the user from manually approving a connection, and cannot detect phishing sites that mimic legitimate domains without being on the blocklist. No private keys are stored or transmitted. Always double-check URLs and never enter your seed phrase on any website.
