About this app
WHAT IT DOES
This userscript transforms your SeatGeek ticket search into a smart price comparison dashboard. It reads ticket listing data from the page—extracting prices, seat locations, section names, and ticket counts—and calculates the average price, lowest price, and price range for the event. A color-coded overlay appears on every listing: green for below-average prices (good deals), yellow for average prices, and red for above-average prices. Each badge shows the ticket price and the discount or premium percentage. The cheapest tickets are highlighted with a star. A summary panel shows the price range, average price, number of listings, and the best value section (the section with the most below-average listings). A one-click button opens the listing details page. This is invaluable for concertgoers, sports fans, and event attendees who want to find the best ticket deals, compare prices across sections, and make informed purchasing decisions.
WHERE IT RUNS
The script runs on all SeatGeek web application pages at *.seatgeek.com/*, with automatic detection of event pages, ticket search results, and any page displaying ticket listings. It works across all SeatGeek interfaces by using multiple selector strategies to find ticket listings, prices, section names, and seat information. The script detects dynamic content loading and re-applies the price comparison overlay when the ticket list updates. It runs across the entire SeatGeek domain, ensuring coverage whether you're viewing a specific event's ticket listings, a category search, or a filtered ticket view.
HOW TO USE
Install the script via the BotGentz extension and navigate to any SeatGeek event page or ticket search results. The price comparison overlay will appear automatically on every ticket listing. Each listing displays a badge with the ticket price, a discount/premium percentage, and the section name, with a color-coded background indicating value. The cheapest tickets are marked with a star. The summary panel shows the number of listings, average price, below/average/above counts, and the best value section. Click the ↗ button next to any listing to open its details page in a new tab. Use the panel controls to customize your experience: toggle the price comparison overlay on or off, show or hide the discount percentage, enable or disable the section name on badges, show or hide the summary panel, or highlight the cheapest tickets. The "Refresh" button manually rescans the page for updated ticket data, and the "Copy summary" button exports the price summary to your clipboard.
THE MECHANISM - PRICE EXTRACTION, STATISTICAL ANALYSIS, AND VALUE CATEGORIZATION
This script identifies ticket data by scanning each listing using a cascading selector strategy. It extracts prices from price elements, section names from section elements, and seat information from row and seat elements. The average price is calculated by summing all ticket prices and dividing by the count. Each ticket's price is compared to the average to determine its value category: below average (115% of average). The discount percentage is calculated as (average - price) / average × 100. The best value section is determined by counting below-average listings per section. The badge is created as a DOM element with inline styles and inserted into the ticket price cell. The summary panel aggregates data and calculates distribution statistics.
THE PANEL
The control panel appears as a floating, draggable element that you can position anywhere on the SeatGeek page. Drag by the header to reposition it, and the position is saved per site using GM_setValue so it stays where you left it across sessions. Release the panel near any edge and it snaps into place, keeping your workspace organized. Click the panel header to collapse it into a small bubble showing only the chart emoji (📊), minimizing distraction while keeping controls accessible. Drag from the bubble to restore the full panel. The panel automatically resizes to fit its content and includes all setting toggles, action buttons, and a price legend. Press the Escape key to quickly collapse the panel to its minimized state. The panel remains visible across page navigation within SeatGeek, with the price comparison overlay updating automatically as you move between event views.
PLEASE NOTE
This script requires the free BotGentz extension to function. It is designed for SeatGeek users who need to compare ticket prices and find the best deals. The script reads only visible ticket data from the DOM—it does not access SeatGeek's API, your account credentials, or any sensitive information. All settings (overlay visibility, discount toggle, section toggle, summary toggle, highlight toggle, and panel position) are stored locally using GM_setValue and never leave your browser. The script does not modify your SeatGeek data—it only reads and visualizes visible ticket information. Price comparisons are calculated relative to the listings currently visible on the page; as you filter or scroll, the averages and value indicators may shift. If SeatGeek updates its website structure, the script may need to be updated to match new selectors. The "best value section" is based on the number of below-average listings in each section and is provided as a general guideline, not a definitive recommendation.
