WHAT IT DOES
The Self-Attested Reputation Updater enables users to update their own on-chain reputation data. Self-attested reputation systems allow individuals to claim and manage their own reputation scores, skills, and credentials on-chain, creating a decentralized identity layer. This tool provides a streamlined interface to update reputation with configurable scores, categories, and attestation data.
The tool reads reputation contract state, existing reputation records, reputation parameters, user address, reputation scores, attestation data, and update history. It supports updating self-attested reputation with configurable scores (typically 0-100), categories, and optional attestation data describing the user's skills or experience. The tool verifies that the caller is the reputation owner and submits the update transaction to the reputation contract.
HOW TO USE
1. Connect your wallet using the Connect button. The tool automatically detects your connected address and network.
2. Select the network where your reputation contract is deployed using the network dropdown.
3. Enter the reputation contract address and the reputation score (0-100).
4. Optionally enter attestation data (e.g., "Expert developer, 5 years experience") and a reputation category.
5. Configure your slippage tolerance percentage for the update transaction.
6. Click "Load current reputation" to verify the contract exists and check your current score.
7. Review the reputation details in the preview panel including contract, user address, current score, new score, category, and attestation.
8. Click "Update Reputation" to submit the update transaction through your wallet.
9. The tool will update your self-attested reputation on-chain.
TECHNICAL MECHANISM
The tool interacts with the reputation contract's update function, which typically takes the score, category, and attestation data as parameters. Before updating, the tool verifies that the caller is the reputation owner (the contract stores reputation per address). The update function then records the new reputation score, category, attestation data, and update timestamp in the contract's state. The tool displays the current reputation score before the update, allowing users to verify the change. The update history records the transaction hash, new score, and attestation data.
WHAT IT CANNOT SEE
This tool cannot verify that the price feed is accurate or reliable; it relies on the reputation contract's internal state. It cannot detect if the oracle has been compromised or manipulated. It cannot ensure that reputation update will execute at the optimal price due to slippage, market volatility, and block timing. It cannot guarantee that update will succeed if the reputation contract is paused or frozen. It cannot verify that the reputation contract has not been upgraded or modified. It cannot detect if the update path is optimal or if the transaction is being front-run by malicious actors. It cannot recover funds if execution fails due to contract bugs, insufficient approvals, out-of-gas errors, or blockchain reorgs. It cannot verify that the self-attested reputation data is truthful or accurate—the tool only records what the user provides. It cannot predict market movements, price gaps, or flash crashes that may affect updates. It cannot guarantee execution during extreme network congestion, high gas prices, or volatile market conditions. It cannot detect if the underlying reputation protocol has been compromised. It cannot prevent the user from canceling or modifying update parameters through other interfaces. It cannot ensure that self-attested reputation will be trusted by third parties. It cannot verify the off-chain truth of the reputation data. It cannot prevent users from falsely inflating their reputation.
