About this app

WHAT IT DOES

setApprovalForAll Danger Explainer reads pending setApprovalForAll transaction data from your wallet or a transaction hash, decodes the NFT collection address, spender address, and whether the approval is being set or revoked. It checks your NFT holdings in that collection, retrieves the collection name and symbol, and checks whether the spender contract is verified. The tool issues a clear danger warning if you are granting unlimited approval for all NFTs in a collection, especially if the spender is unverified.

HOW TO USE

When your wallet prompts you to sign an NFT collection approval transaction, copy the transaction hash from your wallet or the requesting dApp. Open the setApprovalForAll Danger Explainer, connect your EVM wallet, and paste the transaction hash into the input field. Click "Look up transaction" to fetch the approval details and generate a danger assessment. Alternatively, click "Manual entry" to enter the collection address, spender address, and action directly. The tool will display the collection details, spender verification status, your NFT holdings, and a danger banner if the approval is dangerous. Review the AI warning to understand the risk, then verify the details in your wallet before signing.

TECHNICAL SECTION — SETAPPROVALFORALL DANGER DETECTION

The tool fetches transaction data from the blockchain using the connected wallet's provider. It decodes the function signature to confirm it is setApprovalForAll, then extracts the spender address and the boolean approval value. The tool retrieves the user's NFT balance in the collection via balanceOf RPC calls, fetches collection metadata (name and symbol), and checks the spender contract's verification status. The danger assessment triggers when: the approval is being set (true), the user owns NFTs in the collection, and the spender contract is unverified. Additional warnings are issued based on the number of NFTs at risk. The AI layer receives the decoded data and generates a clear, urgent warning. This approach helps you avoid signing dangerous unlimited NFT approvals.

WHAT IT CANNOT SEE

This tool cannot read the actual intent behind a setApprovalForAll transaction. It cannot determine if the spender address is malicious without an external database. It cannot detect if the spender will transfer NFTs or use the approval maliciously. It cannot detect if the approval has been revoked at the time of the check. It cannot verify if the collection contract is legitimate. The user must still verify the transaction details in their wallet before signing. The AI warning is generated from on-chain data and does not constitute financial advice or a security guarantee.

PLEASE NOTE

EVM chains only. Warnings are AI-generated from data the app reads on-chain—always review what you are actually signing in your wallet before approving it. The wallet's own signature prompt remains the final and only protection against unwanted approvals. This tool is read-only; it never sends transactions or signs anything on your behalf.
