WHAT IT DOES

SoundCloud Download Link Finder automatically scans SoundCloud track, playlist, and profile pages to uncover hidden or embedded download links that are not always visible in the standard interface. It detects download URLs from anchor tags with download attributes, meta tags containing audio file references, SoundCloud API data embedded in script tags, and custom data attributes. All found links are displayed in a clean overlay panel with options to copy individual URLs, open them in new tabs, or copy all links at once. The tool monitors page changes in real-time, automatically re-scanning when you navigate to a new track or when dynamic content loads.

WHERE IT RUNS

This extension works exclusively on SoundCloud domains, including soundcloud.com, and covers all page types including track pages (soundcloud.com/user/track-name), playlist and set pages, user profile pages with track lists, and the SoundCloud stream. It handles both the standard desktop interface and the mobile-adapted views, and continues working as SoundCloud loads content dynamically without full page refreshes.

HOW TO USE

Install the extension and navigate to any SoundCloud page. The overlay panel appears automatically. Click the "Scan for Download Links" button to initiate a search of the current page. Any discovered download URLs appear in a list below, each with Copy and Open buttons. Use "Copy All URLs" to copy every found link to your clipboard as a newline-separated list, or "Open All URLs" to open each link in a new background tab. The extension can auto-scan on page load — enable this via the toggle. Results update automatically when you navigate to a new track within the SoundCloud single-page app.

TECHNICAL SECTION — MULTI-STRATEGY DOWNLOAD LINK EXTRACTION

Unlike basic tools that only look for obvious anchor tags, this extension employs a comprehensive multi-strategy extraction engine. It first scans for standard anchor elements with download attributes, href patterns matching common audio extensions (.mp3, .wav, .flac, .aiff, .m4a), or URL paths containing "download" strings. It then queries meta tags including Open Graph audio properties, itemprop audio references, and SoundCloud-specific meta tags. The third and most powerful strategy parses inline script tags — it uses regular expression patterns to extract values from download_url, downloadUrl, stream_url, and streamUrl JSON properties found in SoundCloud's client-side data objects. This captures download links that are present in the page's JavaScript state but never rendered as visible HTML elements. Finally, it scans all elements for data-download and data-download-url attributes used by custom players and embedded widgets. All extracted URLs are deduplicated and presented with context labels indicating their source type.

THE PANEL — DRAG / PER-SITE POSITION / SNAP / COLLAPSE / RESIZE / ESCAPE

The overlay panel is fully interactive and designed for seamless multitasking. Drag it anywhere on the screen using the handle at the top of the panel; the position is saved per site so it stays where you left it across sessions. The panel includes a snap-to-edge feature that gently anchors the overlay to the nearest screen edge when released. Click the collapse button to minimize the panel to a compact pill showing only the number of links found; expand it again with a single click. Resize the panel vertically by dragging the bottom-right corner to view more or fewer results. Press the Escape key at any time to instantly close the overlay; it reappears on the next page navigation or refresh.

This extension requires the free BotGentz companion extension to function, as it provides the underlying content script injection and cross-origin communication framework. No personal data, browsing history, or SoundCloud activity is stored, transmitted, or shared. All scanning occurs entirely locally in your browser; no information is sent to any external server. The extension does not access or store login credentials, financial data, or personally identifiable information. SoundCloud may update its page structure and API data formats; the extension includes pattern-based extraction that adapts to common variations, but major redesigns may temporarily affect detection. Results include both official download links (when creators enable downloads) and stream URLs which may not permit offline downloading. Users are responsible for respecting content creators' rights and SoundCloud's terms of service.
