Speed Up Transaction in MetaMask

WHAT IT DOES

This tool helps you speed up a pending transaction in MetaMask by sending a replacement transaction with the same nonce and a higher gas price. It reads the current pending transaction queue and nonce from your connected wallet, fetches the current gas price from the network, allows you to select the transaction to accelerate, and submits a replacement with a configurable gas price multiplier. If successful, the original pending transaction is replaced and the new transaction is prioritized for faster confirmation.

HOW TO USE

Connect your MetaMask wallet. Enter the nonce of the transaction you want to speed up, or click "Fetch Pending" to automatically detect pending transactions from your wallet. Select a pending transaction from the list to populate its nonce. Adjust the "Gas price multiplier" — a higher value increases the chance of faster confirmation (1.5x to 2.5x recommended). Review the speed-up details including the target nonce, new gas price, and estimated fee. Click "Speed Up Transaction" and sign the replacement transaction in your wallet. The replacement will be sent, and the tool will display the transaction hash and confirmation status.

TECHNICAL MECHANISM

The tool uses the transaction replacement mechanism supported by Ethereum and EVM-compatible networks. When you send a transaction with the same nonce as a pending transaction and a higher gas price, the network prioritizes the replacement. The tool connects to your wallet via the BGWallet bridge and ethers.js. It fetches the current gas price using provider.getGasPrice(), applies the user-specified multiplier, and constructs a zero-value transaction sent to the wallet's own address. The nonce is set to match the pending transaction, and gasLimit is set to 21000 (standard ETH transfer). The tool signs and sends this replacement through the connected wallet. It then waits for the transaction receipt to confirm the replacement was mined. Unlike a cancellation, the speed-up transaction sends zero value to the wallet itself, effectively replacing the pending transaction with a faster one.

WHAT IT CANNOT SEE

This tool cannot speed up transactions that have already been confirmed — it only works on pending transactions. It cannot speed up transactions on networks where the wallet does not support nonce replacement. It cannot force the speed-up if the user denies the signature request in MetaMask. It cannot guarantee speed-up if the original transaction is mined before the replacement. It cannot speed up transactions sent from other wallets or addresses — only from the connected wallet. It cannot speed up transactions that are not pending. It cannot reduce fees below the current market rate — the multiplier must be at least 1.1x the current gas price. It cannot predict exactly how much the new gas price will improve confirmation time, as network conditions vary.

PLEASE NOTE

This tool works only with EVM-compatible wallets connected via the BGWallet bridge. Speed-up is not guaranteed — it depends on network conditions and the speed of mining. Higher gas prices increase the chance of faster confirmation but cost more in fees. Always verify the nonce you are speeding up is correct — speeding up the wrong nonce will replace the wrong transaction. The tool does not store or transmit any data — all processing occurs in your browser. This tool is provided as a utility and does not guarantee transaction acceleration.
