Sports Stats Quick-Compare Panel

WHAT IT DOES

Sports Stats Quick-Compare Panel automatically detects player or team statistics on any sports page and displays them in a compact, side-by-side comparison panel. The tool extracts key stats based on the sport — points, rebounds, assists for basketball; passing yards, rushing yards, touchdowns for football; and similar stats for baseball and soccer. Each stat is displayed with a visual bar chart, and the highest value in each category is highlighted, making it easy to compare performance at a glance.

WHERE IT RUNS

This extension works on any website that displays sports statistics. It functions on sports news sites, team pages, league sites, box scores, and any page with tabular stats. The tool works across all domains and adapts to various stat display formats.

HOW TO USE

Install the extension and navigate to any page with sports statistics. A compact compare panel appears showing up to four players or teams with their key stats side-by-side. Use the overlay panel to customize the experience: toggle the compare panel on or off, select your preferred sport (Basketball, Football, Baseball, or Soccer), choose the panel position (Top Right, Top Left, Bottom Right, or Bottom Left), toggle difference highlighting on or off, and specify which stats to compare (comma-separated). Click "Refresh Stats" to manually update the panel. The status area shows how many players were detected.

TECHNICAL SECTION — STAT DETECTION AND COMPARISON ENGINE

The extension uses a multi-strategy detection engine to find player or team statistics on sports pages. It scans tables and stat containers for rows with both numeric values and names, extracting stats based on the selected sport's stat definitions. The tool supports basketball, football, baseball, and soccer with sport-specific stat labels. For each detected player, the tool builds a stats object and displays up to four players in the comparison panel. Each stat is shown with a bar chart background proportional to the maximum value, and the highest value is highlighted. The panel is created using CSS Grid for precise alignment and DOM manipulation with inline CSS for styling. A MutationObserver re-scans the page when new stats are loaded.

THE PANEL — DRAG / PER-SITE POSITION / SNAP / COLLAPSE / RESIZE / ESCAPE

The overlay panel is fully interactive and designed for seamless multitasking. Drag it anywhere on the screen using the handle at the top of the panel; the position is saved per site so it stays where you left it across sessions. The panel includes a snap-to-edge feature that gently anchors the overlay to the nearest screen edge when released. Click the collapse button to minimize the panel to a compact pill showing the current comparison status; expand it again with a single click. Resize the panel vertically by dragging the bottom-right corner to view more controls. Press the Escape key at any time to instantly close the overlay; it reappears on the next page navigation or refresh.

This extension requires the free BotGentz companion extension to function, as it provides the underlying content script injection and cross-origin communication framework. No personal data, browsing history, or sports data is stored, transmitted, or shared. Settings are stored locally in your browser using GM_setValue and are never sent to any external server. The extension does not access or store login credentials, financial data, or personally identifiable information. The tool reads stat information visible on the page and does not access any sports API or private data. Stat detection accuracy depends on the page structure and formatting; some sites may not be fully supported. The comparison panel shows the first four detected players; if more than four are detected, only the first four are displayed. Stats are extracted from the page and may not include all available metrics.
