The Dyrt Web Campground Review Aggregator automatically scans The Dyrt campground review pages and extracts comprehensive review data including reviewer ratings, pros and cons lists, campsite condition comments, overall scores, and recommended camping seasons. The tool aggregates multiple reviews into a single, easy-to-read summary panel that shows the average rating with color-coding, total review count, and most frequently mentioned pros and cons. A visual sentiment analysis displays bar charts showing the distribution of positive, neutral, and negative sentiment across all reviews, helping you quickly gauge overall campground reception at a glance. The panel highlights the most commonly recommended camping season based on reviewer feedback. A quick-glance summary gives you everything you need to make faster campground decisions without reading through dozens of individual reviews. All filter preferences are saved across sessions.

This extension operates exclusively on thedyrt.com domain pages that contain campground content—specifically pages with "/camping/" or "/campground/" in the URL path, or pages that display campground reviews and ratings. It works alongside the free BotGentz companion extension, which provides the necessary DOM access and page interaction capabilities. The review aggregator runs entirely within your local browser instance and does not communicate with any external servers or APIs. All review extraction, sentiment analysis, and aggregation occurs on your machine, ensuring your browsing activity remains private. It supports all modern Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera) and Firefox when paired with the BotGentz bridge.

HOW TO USE

After installing both BotGentz and this review aggregator, navigate to any The Dyrt campground page. Within 1-2 seconds, a panel appears in the bottom-right corner displaying the aggregated review summary. The "Summary" section shows the average rating out of 5, total number of reviews, and the most commonly recommended camping season based on reviewer feedback. The "Sentiment" section displays color-coded bar charts for positive, neutral, and negative sentiment, giving you an at-a-glance view of community reception. The "Common Pros" and "Common Cons" sections show the top three most frequently mentioned positive and negative points across all reviews. A settings toggle lets you show or hide the sentiment analysis. All review data is extracted from the visible page content.

REVIEW EXTRACTION AND SENTIMENT ANALYSIS MECHANISM

The review aggregator uses a multi-stage processing pipeline to extract and analyze campground review data. It first locates review elements on the page using a comprehensive set of CSS selectors that adapt to The Dyrt's page structure. For each review, the tool extracts ratings through pattern matching for "X/5" scores, star ratings, and rating keywords. When explicit ratings are not available, the tool performs keyword-based inference by scanning for positive and negative terms to estimate a rating. For sentiment analysis, the tool maintains curated dictionaries of positive, negative, and neutral words specific to camping contexts, then counts occurrences of each category to generate percentage-based sentiment distribution. Pros and cons are extracted using pattern matching for common phrases like "Pros:" or "Cons:" and marker symbols like "+" and "-". The aggregation step compiles all extracted data across reviews, calculates average ratings, identifies the most frequently mentioned pros and cons through frequency counting, and determines the most commonly recommended season through keyword detection for "spring," "summer," "fall," "winter," or "year-round" mentions.

THE PANEL

The review aggregator panel is a compact, functional overlay that integrates into The Dyrt campground page. It can be dragged by clicking and holding the title bar, positioning the panel anywhere on the screen for optimal visibility while you browse campgrounds. The panel includes a built-in snap feature that automatically aligns to the nearest screen edge when released within 48 pixels, keeping your workspace organized. Click the collapse arrow in the top-right corner to minimize the panel to a small icon bubble showing a gear emoji, preserving screen space while keeping the tool accessible. The panel is not resizable in this version, maintaining a consistent compact size that works on all screen resolutions. Press the Escape key to instantly hide the panel; press Escape again to restore it. All position, collapse state, and toggle preferences are saved locally using GM_setValue and persist across browsing sessions.

PLEASE NOTE

This extension requires the free BotGentz extension to function—the review aggregator does not work standalone. The Dyrt occasionally updates its page layouts and review presentation formats, which may temporarily affect review extraction accuracy. The tool extracts reviews from the visible page content and may not detect reviews that are loaded dynamically or hidden behind pagination. Sentiment analysis is keyword-based and may not capture nuance, sarcasm, or context in reviewer comments—the sentiment percentages should be interpreted as general indicators, not absolute measures. The extracted pros, cons, and season recommendations are based on pattern matching and may occasionally include false positives. The tool does not store or transmit any data; all review extraction, sentiment analysis, and aggregation is performed entirely within your browser.
