WHAT IT DOES
Third-Party Bridge Risk Comparison Executor enables users to compare the security risk profiles of multiple canonical bridge protocols side-by-side. The tool aggregates and normalizes key risk indicators including Total Value Locked (TVL), daily volume, historical hacks, audit status, multisig signer count, time-to-finality, fee structures, supported chains, and token coverage. It presents a ranked comparison table with a risk score for each bridge—lower scores indicate lower estimated risk. This allows users to make informed decisions about which bridge to use for cross-chain transfers based on their risk tolerance and requirements.
HOW TO USE
Connect your wallet. Enter one or more bridge contract addresses as a comma-separated list in the text area. Click "Compare bridges" to fetch and analyze risk data for each protocol. The results table displays each bridge with its risk level (Low/Medium/High), risk score, TVL, daily volume, number of audits, multisig signer count, time-to-finality in minutes, fee in basis points, hack history, and number of supported chains. Bridges are sorted by risk score from lowest (safest) to highest (riskiest). A summary section highlights the lowest-risk bridge, the highest-risk bridge, and the average risk score across all compared protocols.
THE REAL MECHANISM — MULTI-FACTOR RISK AGGREGATION WITH NORMALIZED SCORING
Unlike simplistic security checkers that rely on a single metric, this tool implements a weighted risk scoring model that combines multiple on-chain and off-chain data sources. The tool reads TVL and daily volume from on-chain data sources (or aggregated APIs), audit status from public security audit databases, and multisig signer counts from bridge configuration contracts. It also factors in historical hack incidents (weighted by recency) and time-to-finality for cross-chain transfers. Each factor is normalized to a 0-100 scale using logarithmic scaling for TVL (to handle wide ranges) and linear scaling for other metrics. The final risk score is computed using a weighted sum: audit coverage (25%), multisig signer count (20%), hack history (25%), time-to-finality (15%), and fee structure (15%). The tool then maps the score to a risk level: Low (0-40), Medium (41-65), or High (66-100). Bridges are ranked by their risk score, and the comparison table includes visual indicators for each factor.
WHAT IT CANNOT SEE
Cannot verify off-chain bridge security audits—the tool relies on publicly available audit data and cannot confirm the quality or completeness of these audits. It cannot predict future hack risks—past performance and security history do not guarantee future security. It cannot ensure audit accuracy—audit reports may contain errors or miss vulnerabilities. It cannot detect if bridge contracts contain undiscovered vulnerabilities—the tool has no access to the contract source code or runtime analysis. It cannot account for non-technical risks such as governance attacks, economic attacks, or validator collusion. All risk assessments are based on heuristics and publicly available data.

This tool exclusively supports EVM-compatible chains where ethers.js can connect via standard JSON-RPC. It does not support non-EVM chains such as Solana, Tron, Starknet, SUI, TON, Aptos, Bitcoin, Cosmos, or XRP. The risk scores are relative and should be used as a starting point for your own due diligence. Always review the bridge's documentation, security audits, and community reputation before transferring funds. This tool is a risk comparison interface, not a financial advisor or security auditor.
