Analyze total value locked (TVL) with current values, percentage changes, peak TVL, and asset breakdowns. Access user growth and retention metrics including active users, new users, retention rates, user growth percentages, and cohort analysis. View treasury data including total balance, monthly income and spend, and treasury asset breakdowns. Access cross-chain comparables showing TVL distribution across chains, market share, and cross-chain growth metrics. This is an essential tool for investors, analysts, and researchers who need to evaluate protocol financial health and performance.

HOW TO USE

1. Connect your Web3 wallet (Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, BSC, or any EVM-compatible chain).

2. Select the network that matches your target chain from the dropdown.

3. Enter a protocol name or slug in the input field (e.g., "uniswap", "aave", "makerdao").

4. Choose the metric type you want to analyze: overview, revenue & earnings, valuation, TVL, user growth & retention, treasury, or cross-chain comparables.

5. Click "analyze protocol" to retrieve the financial data from Token Terminal's API.

6. Review the results displayed in a structured format showing key financial metrics with appropriate formatting.

7. Use the "copy JSON" button to export the complete data for further analysis or integration.

TECHNICAL MECHANISM

Token Terminal Financial Analyzer interacts with Token Terminal's API endpoints to retrieve protocol financial intelligence data. The tool constructs API requests using the provided protocol slug and metric type, leveraging Token Terminal's standardized data structures for financial metrics. For revenue data, the tool queries the revenue endpoint which aggregates protocol earnings from on-chain fee collection. For valuation metrics, it accesses the valuation endpoint which calculates market cap, FDV, and ratios based on token price and supply data. The tool parses the JSON responses and transforms them into a user-friendly display format, automatically detecting and formatting numeric values, currency amounts, and percentage changes. TVL data is presented with asset breakdowns showing individual asset contributions. User growth metrics include cohort analysis for retention tracking. Treasury data shows asset composition and monthly financial flows. Cross-chain comparables display TVL distribution across multiple chains with market share percentages. The tool handles different response structures gracefully and provides clear feedback during the fetch operation. All data is normalized and presented consistently regardless of the protocol or metric type.

WHAT IT CANNOT SEE

This tool is a frontend for the Token Terminal API — it does not validate data accuracy, verify completeness, or detect inconsistencies between Token Terminal's data and actual on-chain state. The tool cannot guarantee that data has been updated recently or that financial metrics reflect current protocol performance. It cannot validate accounting methodology or revenue calculation accuracy. The tool cannot ensure that all protocols have complete historical data or that cross-chain comparables are comprehensive. All data is presented as provided by Token Terminal — if the API returns incomplete, outdated, or incorrect information, this tool will display it without warning. The tool cannot detect if Token Terminal's data sources have been compromised or if there are errors in the financial aggregation algorithms. It cannot predict future protocol performance or provide real-time data beyond Token Terminal's update frequency. The tool cannot fetch data for protocols not covered by Token Terminal's platform or for non-EVM chains.

PLEASE NOTE

Token Terminal Financial Analyzer supports EVM-compatible blockchains only (Ethereum Mainnet, Goerli, Polygon, Arbitrum One, Optimism, BNB Smart Chain, and others via network selection). The tool requires a Token Terminal API key — in this implementation, it uses a simulated key for demonstration purposes. For production use, you must provide your own Token Terminal API key. The tool never submits transactions or signs messages; it is strictly read-only. Data fetch performance depends on Token Terminal's API response times and your network connection. Some protocols may have limited data depending on Token Terminal's coverage and the specific metric type requested.
