WHAT IT DOES

Trace Product Origin enables you to trace the complete origin of a product using blockchain technology. Product origin tracing provides transparency into a product's manufacturing history, raw materials, production dates, certifications, and quality checks, all recorded immutably on the blockchain. This tool takes a product identifier or serial number and an origin tracking contract address, then retrieves the complete origin records for that product from the blockchain. It displays manufacturing location, raw materials, production date, batch number, certifications, quality checks, and supply chain participants. This is essential for supply chain transparency, ethical sourcing verification, quality assurance, and consumer trust. The tool provides clear output showing the product ID, origin status, and a detailed list of all origin records.

HOW TO USE

Connect your wallet using the BGWallet connector (required for context). Enter the origin tracking contract address that manages product origin records. Enter the product identifier or serial number (e.g., "PROD-001"). Click "Trace Origin" to retrieve the product's origin records. The tool displays the product ID, origin status, the number of records found, and a detailed list of all origin records with field names, values, and timestamps. You can copy the origin records to your clipboard for further analysis. The result includes a detailed breakdown showing the product's complete origin history.

TECHNICAL MECHANISM

This tool implements product origin tracing by querying an origin tracking contract on the blockchain. The tracing process: (1) the product identifier is validated; (2) the origin tracking contract is queried using the product identifier; (3) the contract returns the complete origin records for the product; (4) each record includes the field name, value, and timestamp; (5) the records are displayed in chronological order. The blockchain provides a permanent, tamper-proof record of the product's origin. All computation is performed locally in the browser with data fetched from the blockchain for verification.

WHAT IT CANNOT SEE

This tool cannot verify the physical product's origin beyond the blockchain record—it only traces the digital record. It does not support tracing without a valid product identifier; the identifier is required. The tool cannot detect if the product has been counterfeited or misrepresented; it only traces the recorded records. It does not support tracing of products not registered on the blockchain; the product must be registered. The tool cannot verify the accuracy of the recorded origin data or participants; it only displays the records. It does not support tracing across non-EVM chains. The tool cannot guarantee that the origin records are complete or truthful; it only displays the records. It does not support batch tracing of multiple products; each product must be traced separately.
