About this app

WHAT IT DOES

Tracking Pixel Detector scans the current page for tracking pixels and beacons by detecting img tags with small dimensions (1x1, 0x0), iframes with tracking domains, and script tags loading known tracking libraries, listing them with their source URLs, tracking provider, and purpose. The tool helps developers and privacy-conscious users identify hidden tracking technologies, understand which third-party services are collecting data, and audit the privacy implications of a website's tracking practices.

WHERE IT RUNS

This tool works on any webpage, including single-page applications (SPAs), dynamic websites, and pages with complex tracking setups. It detects both visible and invisible tracking elements, including 1x1 pixel images, iframe beacons, and script tags loading analytics and advertising libraries. It runs on all websites as designated in its match patterns.

HOW TO USE

After installing the BotGentz extension, open the Tracking Pixel Detector panel from your browser toolbar or use the keyboard shortcut. Click "Scan Page" to analyze the current page for tracking elements. The tool detects image pixels (small or hidden images), iframe beacons, and script tags from known tracking domains. Each detected element is listed with its type, source URL, tracking provider (if known), and purpose category. Use the settings to toggle detection of image pixels, iframe beacons, script trackers, and known tracking domains. Click the "Copy" button next to any element to copy its URL, or use "Copy All Trackers" to export the complete list. The panel uses color-coded indicators to distinguish between different tracker types.

TECHNICAL SECTION — MULTI-STRATEGY TRACKING DETECTION

Unlike simple network monitoring tools that require intercepting requests, this tool uses a multi-strategy detection approach that scans the page's DOM structure. It identifies tracking pixels through multiple heuristics: checking image dimensions for extremely small sizes (common in tracking pixels), analyzing image URLs for tracking-related keywords (pixel, beacon, track, analytics), detecting iframes that are likely used as tracking beacons, and matching script source URLs against a comprehensive database of known tracking providers. The detection engine is extensible and can be updated with new tracking domains as they emerge. Each detected element is categorized by type and provider, with purposes ranging from analytics and advertising to social media tracking and performance monitoring. This approach provides comprehensive visibility into a page's tracking landscape.

THE PANEL

The panel is draggable anywhere on the screen and remembers its position per site. It can snap to the left, right, top, or bottom edges, or float freely. Collapse it to a small status indicator when you need more page visibility, and expand it again with a single click. Resize it vertically or horizontally to see more tracking details. Press Escape to close the panel instantly. All settings (include known domains, image pixels, iframe beacons, script trackers, auto-scan) are saved globally and persist across sessions.

PLEASE NOTE

This tool requires the free BotGentz extension. It only reads DOM structure and does not intercept, modify, or block any network requests. The known tracking domain list is maintained as a reference and may not include all tracking providers. Some tracking elements may be loaded dynamically after the initial scan; use auto-scan or manual rescan to capture them. Websites change their tracking implementations frequently; scripts may need updates, and we work to keep them current but cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation.
