About this app

WHAT IT DOES

United Web MileagePlus Expiry Reminder reads your MileagePlus miles balance and expiration date from your United account and displays a floating expiry reminder badge on all pages. The badge shows your current miles balance and the number of days until your miles expire. Color coding shows urgency—green for over 90 days, yellow for 30-90 days, and red with a pulse animation for 30 days or less. A count of expiring miles is displayed when available. The extension tracks miles history per month, storing each balance change with a timestamp. When miles are within 30 days of expiration, a desktop notification is triggered. The panel displays your current month's miles history and changes over time.

WHERE IT RUNS

This extension works on all United pages at united.com and its subdomains, specifically on account pages where MileagePlus balance and expiration information are displayed. It runs on the main account page, the MileagePlus dashboard, the profile page, and any page displaying miles information. The extension operates entirely within your browser and does not access United's servers directly—it reads only what is visible on the page you are viewing. It works alongside the free BotGentz extension, which provides the necessary scripting environment.

HOW TO USE

Install the extension, then navigate to united.com and log in to your account. The extension automatically creates a floating expiry reminder badge on the page. Click the extension's icon in your browser toolbar to open the settings panel. Use the "Show Overlay" / "Hide Overlay" button to toggle the badge visibility. The badge shows your miles balance, days until expiration, and expiring miles count. Use the "Refresh" button to manually update the badge with the latest miles information. The "Show expiring miles" toggle controls whether expiring miles count appears. The "Expiry notifications" toggle controls desktop notifications when miles are within 30 days of expiration. Adjust the overlay transparency using the opacity dropdown (70%, 82%, 92%, or 100%). Drag the badge by clicking and holding anywhere inside it. Resize it by dragging the bottom-right corner. Close the badge with the × button.

MILEAGEPLUS EXTRACTION WITH EXPIRY DATE PARSING AND NOTIFICATION

Unlike simple balance display tools, this extension uses a multi-selector extraction engine to find miles balance, expiration dates, and expiring miles counts from United's varying page structures. It searches for miles balance using multiple selector patterns (.mileageplus-balance, .miles-balance, .balance-amount) and falls back to text parsing. Expiration dates are extracted from expiry-related elements using date parsing that handles multiple formats (MM/DD/YYYY, Month D, YYYY). Expiring miles counts are extracted from expiring miles elements. The days-until-expiry calculation compares the expiration date to the current date and color-codes the display based on urgency. Monthly miles history is stored as a key-value object where keys are year-month strings and values are arrays of miles records with timestamps, limited to 20 entries per month. Expiry notifications trigger when miles expire within 30 days, with a once-per-day cooldown.

THE PANEL

The panel supports drag-to-move anywhere on the page. It remembers its position per site, so it stays where you placed it on united.com. Click the panel header to collapse it down to just the minimized bubble, or click the expand handle to show the full panel. The panel can be resized by dragging the bottom-right corner. Press the Escape key to close the expanded panel and return to the minimized state. All panel settings, including position, size, collapsed state, opacity, expiring miles visibility, notification preference, and monthly miles history, are saved per site and persist across browsing sessions.

PLEASE NOTE

This extension requires the free BotGentz extension to be installed and active, as it provides the underlying DOM injection and script execution environment. United's website changes periodically, and MileagePlus element structures, class names, and page layouts may be updated. When that happens, the extension may stop detecting miles data until an update is released. The extension stores your overlay position, size, opacity, visibility, expiring miles preference, notification preference, and monthly miles history locally in your browser's storage using GM_setValue. Miles history is stored as a key-value object where keys are year-month strings and values are arrays of miles records. The miles balance and expiration date displayed are read from the page—the extension does not access United's internal miles data. Always verify with United directly for the most accurate MileagePlus information. No data is ever sent to any server, and no personal information is collected. You can clear all stored settings at any time by clearing your browser data for united.com.
