About this app

WHAT IT DOES

Upwork Client Rating History Overlay automatically detects client information on Upwork job pages and displays a compact, color-coded overlay badge showing the client's rating, review count, and total spend. A detailed popup provides additional information including location, hire rate, and a visual rating history trend. This helps freelancers quickly evaluate potential clients before submitting proposals, making informed decisions about which jobs to pursue based on client reputation and history.

WHERE IT RUNS

This extension works exclusively on Upwork at www.upwork.com. It functions on job listing pages, client profiles, and any page displaying client information. The tool works across all Upwork job categories and adapts to the dynamic page structure.

HOW TO USE

Install the extension and navigate to any Upwork job page. A compact badge appears showing the client's rating, review count, and total spend. Click the badge to open a detailed popup with additional client information and a visual rating history trend. Use the overlay panel to customize the experience: toggle the rating badge on or off, toggle the review count display on or off, toggle the total spend display on or off, choose the badge position (Top Right, Top Left, Bottom Right, or Bottom Left), and click "Refresh Client Info" to manually update the data. The status area shows the current client rating.

TECHNICAL SECTION — CLIENT DATA EXTRACTION AND RATING DISPLAY

The extension uses a multi-strategy detection engine to find client information on Upwork pages. It scans for client-related selectors including .client-info, .buyer-info, and .client-rating, extracting rating, review count, total spend, name, location, and hire rate. It also falls back to scanning the page text for rating and review patterns when specific selectors are not found. The rating is color-coded — green for excellent (4.8+), yellow for good (4.5+), orange for average (4.0+), and red for below average. The badge is created using DOM manipulation with inline CSS and positioned in the selected corner. The detailed popup shows all extracted client data and includes a simulated rating history chart for visual context.

THE PANEL — DRAG / PER-SITE POSITION / SNAP / COLLAPSE / RESIZE / ESCAPE

The overlay panel is fully interactive and designed for seamless multitasking. Drag it anywhere on the screen using the handle at the top of the panel; the position is saved per site so it stays where you left it across sessions. The panel includes a snap-to-edge feature that gently anchors the overlay to the nearest screen edge when released. Click the collapse button to minimize the panel to a compact pill showing the current client rating; expand it again with a single click. Resize the panel vertically by dragging the bottom-right corner to view more controls. Press the Escape key at any time to instantly close the overlay; it reappears on the next page navigation or refresh.

PLEASE NOTE

This extension requires the free BotGentz companion extension to function, as it provides the underlying content script injection and cross-origin communication framework. No personal data, browsing history, or client data is stored, transmitted, or shared. Settings are stored locally in your browser using GM_setValue and are never sent to any external server. The extension does not access or store login credentials, financial data, or personally identifiable information. The tool reads client information visible on the page and does not access Upwork's API or any private data. Upwork may update its page structure; the extension includes multiple detection strategies to maintain compatibility, but major redesigns may temporarily affect client data detection. The rating history trend is a visual simulation based on the current rating and is provided for informational purposes only.
