About this app
WHAT IT DOES
Viki Region Unlocker VPN is a front-end companion for BotSurf that lets you present yourself as browsing from a selected region when accessing Viki's Asian drama and entertainment streaming platform. It reads the region you are currently claiming, shows you what that region unlocks in terms of content, subtitle language options, and pricing, and gives you a simple way to ask BotSurf to switch your apparent location. This app does not route traffic itself — that is BotSurf's job — but it gives you full visibility and control over your region setting specifically for Viki.
WHAT THE REGION CHANGES
When you set your region through this app, Viki's website and apps respond as if you were physically in that country. That means:
- The complete Asian drama catalogue for that region becomes available, including K-dramas, C-dramas, J-dramas, Taiwanese dramas, variety shows, and exclusive titles that are licensed specifically for that territory. Different regions have dramatically different libraries due to licensing agreements — for example, the Americas and Europe often have different title availability, while Asia regions may have the most extensive and latest content. Some exclusive titles may only be available in specific countries or territories.
- Subtitle language options change to match what is offered in that region. Viki is known for its community-driven subtitles in over 100 languages, but availability varies by region. The app helps you see exactly which subtitle languages are available for your claimed region, allowing you to access content in your preferred language.
- Pricing is displayed in local currency (USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, SGD, etc.) and any region-specific promotional offers, free trials, or subscription discounts become visible. Some regions may have different pricing tiers or special bundled offers that are not available elsewhere, potentially saving you money on your subscription.
- Simulcast schedules adjust to the selected region's time zone, showing you when new episodes air locally. This means you can watch episodes as they become available in that region's time zone rather than waiting for your local release, potentially giving you earlier access to new episodes.
- The interface language and date/time formatting align with the region's locale, and any region-specific content ratings or age restrictions are applied according to local standards.
- Any content that is geo-restricted to that region — such as certain dramas, variety shows, or exclusive titles that are only available in specific countries or territories — becomes visible and playable through the Viki player.
HOW TO USE
1. Open the app over any Viki page you are browsing, or launch it as a full-frame panel when you are not on the site yet — it works either way.
2. The app displays your current claimed region at the top, along with a region chip that is always visible so you know exactly what location you are presenting.
3. Tap the Change button to ask BotSurf to switch your region. The app will prompt BotSurf to select a new region — typically you can cycle through available options such as United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Ireland, and South Africa.
4. After the region changes, Viki may ask you to reload the page. The app will show a status message reminding you that reloading is necessary for the new region to take effect.
5. Use the consistency check card to see whether your browser signals — time zone, language, and currency formatting — match the region you are claiming. This helps you understand why some content might still appear unavailable even after switching.
6. You can edit the local reference table that maps region keys to labels, flags, time zones, and locales. This table is not live and does not affect BotSurf's routing; it is purely for display and consistency checking.
WHAT IT CANNOT DO
This app cannot bypass geographic content restrictions on its own — it only signals a region preference to BotSurf, which must handle the actual routing. It does not guarantee unblocking of all Viki content, does not affect download speeds or streaming quality, and cannot access content that requires a separate paid subscription tier beyond the user's existing plan (such as Viki Pass or Viki Pass Plus that offers ad-free viewing, early access, and higher quality streams). It also cannot change the region for any non-Viki platforms, nor can it unlock content that is not licensed in the target region — if a title is not available in that region due to licensing, no region change will make it appear. The app does not make you anonymous; it changes an apparent location only, and overstating that would put you at greater risk than a tool that does nothing. It cannot circumvent Viki's own VPN detection measures, which may still block traffic even with a valid region signal. The app does not provide any content itself — it only signals region preference — and it does not store or share any of your viewing habits or personal data. It also does not bypass any account-based restrictions, such as the need for a subscription to access premium content or ad-free viewing, nor does it bypass age verification or parental controls.
PLEASE NOTE
Services like Viki actively monitor and block traffic from known VPN and proxy servers. Even with the correct region signal, your access may be denied if BotSurf's exit node is detected. This app does not guarantee consistent access, and you should be aware that using region-unlocking tools may violate Viki's terms of service. This app is provided as a technical interface for region preference signaling and does not encourage or condone bypassing content licensing agreements. Always respect the content provider's rules and local laws. The app is free to use and does not require any registration or payment.
