Manufacturers & Institutions

License the voice engine for your own hardware, or deploy BotSurf across a healthcare, education or finance device fleet — two different paths, both starting here.

Licensing models

Four ways to license the engine, depending on volume, timeline and how you'd rather structure cost.

Evaluation (NDA)

Free access to a sandboxed SDK and dev kit under NDA, no commitment, to confirm fit before any commercial terms are discussed.

 • Sandbox SDK + emulator build
 • Reference hardware loan (subject to availability)
 • Direct technical contact for integration questions
 • Full technical specification set for your target platform

Per-Unit Royalty

A fixed royalty per device shipped, with volume tiers — the most common model for consumer electronics OEMs shipping at scale.

 • Full white-label branding rights
 • OTA update pipeline access
 • Standard support SLA
 • Royalty rate reduces at higher shipment volume tiers

Flat Annual License

A fixed annual fee independent of unit volume — better suited to lower-volume or specialty hardware runs where per-unit tracking adds overhead for both sides.

 • Full white-label branding rights
 • OTA update pipeline access
 • Standard support SLA
 • Predictable cost regardless of shipment volume

Revenue Share

No upfront licence fee; BotGentz takes a share of in-device app/agent transaction revenue instead — lowest up-front cost, aligned incentives on device engagement.

 • Full white-label branding rights
 • OTA update pipeline access
 • Standard support SLA
 • No fee if the device generates no in-app revenue

Integration process

From NDA to full production, roughly 3–5 months depending on how close your existing hardware is to the baseline below.

1
NDA & Evaluation Kit 1–2 weeks

Sign a mutual NDA, then get sandbox SDK access and, where available, a reference hardware loan for your target device category.

2
Technical Fit Review 2–4 weeks

Your engineering team integrates the SDK against your chipset and firmware in the sandbox. BotGentz engineering is available directly during this phase, not just through a ticket queue.

3
Commercial Terms 1–3 weeks

Once technical fit is confirmed, agree licensing model (royalty, flat fee or revenue share), branding scope, and any exclusivity or minimum volume terms.

4
Certification & Compliance 4–8 weeks

Full integration testing against your production firmware, wake-word accuracy benchmarking on your actual microphone array, and a compliance review against your target markets’ requirements.

5
Pilot Production Run 4–6 weeks

A limited production batch ships with BotSurf integrated, validating the full OTA update pipeline and support workflow before full-volume manufacturing.

6
Full Production & Launch Ongoing

Full-volume manufacturing begins, with an assigned technical contact for the life of the program and access to the OTA pipeline for every future BotSurf update.

Hardware & memory baseline

The floor every device category needs to clear — see the platform-specific SDK page below for chipset notes on your exact device type.

Minimum RAM 1 GB for screenless/voice-only devices (speakers, radios); 2 GB for screen-based devices (TVs, tablets, e-readers, gaming)
Minimum storage 4 GB available for the OS-level install, OTA update headroom and the preloaded content catalog
CPU architecture ARM (Cortex-A series and equivalent) and x86 both supported; ARMv7 minimum, ARMv8/64-bit recommended for full agent performance
Network Wi-Fi or Ethernet required for setup, agent execution and OTA updates; core voice command recognition works offline once configured
Microphone array Single mic supported for near-field (button-activated) devices; 2+ mic array recommended for far-field always-listening wake-word pickup
Audio output Required for voice-only devices (speakers, radios); optional but recommended elsewhere for spoken confirmations and read-aloud features
OS install type Full OS-level system service, not a sandboxed app — starts on boot, keeps running in the background, and can be woken by the wake-word engine even from a low-power state
Chipset compatibility Pre-optimized for Qualcomm Snapdragon; also verified on Amlogic, MediaTek and Rockchip SoCs common in TV, speaker and tablet hardware — see the platform-specific SDK page for your device category for exact chipset notes

What ships preloaded

A usable device on day one, not an empty shell waiting on content deals.

 • Every voice-controlled site category already in the BotGentz catalog (TV, radio, shopping, games and more), so the device is genuinely usable on day one, not an empty shell waiting for content partnerships.
 • The full voice command catalogue this SDK ships with — thousands of pre-mapped commands across navigation, media control and app actions, not just a handful of demo phrases.
 • A starter set of AI agents relevant to the device category (media control agents for TVs, shopping agents for tablets, and so on), configurable or removable per your own catalog decisions.
 • OTA update client wired in from first boot, so every future BotSurf improvement reaches shipped devices without a manual reflash.
Start under NDA, no commitment

Sandbox SDK access, full technical specs for your target platform, and a direct engineering contact.

Manufacturer FAQ

Do we need to sign anything before seeing technical details?

A mutual NDA gets you sandbox SDK access, a full technical specification set for your target platform, and — where available — a reference hardware loan. No commercial commitment is required at that stage.

Which licensing model is right for us?

Per-unit royalty suits OEMs shipping at real volume, since the rate drops at higher tiers. A flat annual licence suits lower-volume or specialty runs where per-unit tracking adds overhead. Revenue share suits partners who’d rather pay nothing upfront and share in-device transaction revenue instead. Most partners land on one after the technical fit review, once real volume and timeline are clearer.

Do we get the source code, or just a compiled SDK?

Standard licensing provides a compiled SDK with full API documentation. Source-level access is available under separate terms for partners with specific security review or deep customization requirements — this is discussed case by case.

How are OTA updates handled once devices are in the field?

Every license includes access to BotGentz’s OTA update pipeline. Updates are staged and can be rolled out on your own schedule rather than pushed unilaterally, so you retain control over what reaches production devices and when.

Can we use our own wake word instead of "Surfa"?

Yes, under the white-label license the wake word, voice, and branding throughout the experience are all configurable to your product identity, not locked to BotGentz’s own.

Does voice recognition work without an internet connection?

Core command recognition and on-device agent execution work offline once the device is configured. Anything that needs live data (checking a live TV listing, a current price) needs connectivity the same way it would on any platform.

What’s the actual integration timeline?

From signed NDA to full production launch typically runs 3 to 5 months, depending on how much of that hardware baseline your existing chipset and firmware already meet. Devices already close to the specification move faster through certification.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

It depends on the licensing model. Flat annual licensing has no volume minimum at all. Per-unit royalty licensing has volume tiers where the rate improves, but no hard minimum to get started. This is confirmed during the commercial terms stage.

What support is included after launch?

Every license includes a standard support SLA and an assigned technical contact for the life of the program, not just for the initial integration window.

Can we get an exclusivity arrangement for our product category?

Category or regional exclusivity can be discussed as part of commercial terms, on a case-by-case basis reflecting volume commitment and market.
