About this app
WHAT IT DOES
Angi Web Quote Comparison Overlay reads service quotes and provider details from your Angi account and displays a floating quote comparison overlay showing price differences between providers. Each provider is displayed with its name, quote price, rating, and response time. The lowest quote is highlighted in green, the highest in red, and preferred providers in blue. A "best value" badge shows the provider with the best price and the savings compared to the highest quote. The extension tracks quote comparison history per project, storing which provider was the lowest for each project. You can set preferred providers that appear with a star icon. The panel displays your current quotes, best value, and project name.
WHERE IT RUNS
This extension works on all Angi pages at angi.com and its subdomains, specifically on account pages where service quotes and provider details are displayed. It runs on the main account page, the quotes page, the project page, and any page displaying provider information. The extension operates entirely within your browser and does not access Angi's servers directly—it reads only what is visible on the page you are viewing. It works alongside the free BotGentz extension, which provides the necessary scripting environment.
HOW TO USE
Install the extension, then navigate to angi.com and log in to your account. The extension automatically creates a floating quote comparison overlay on the page. Click the extension's icon in your browser toolbar to open the settings panel. Use the "Show Overlay" / "Hide Overlay" button to toggle the badge visibility. The overlay shows all quotes with prices, ratings, and response times, with lowest and highest highlighted. Use the "Refresh" button to manually update the overlay with the latest quote information. Enter preferred provider IDs in the preferences section to have them appear first with a star icon. The "Show ratings" toggle controls whether ratings appear. Adjust the overlay transparency using the opacity dropdown (70%, 82%, 92%, or 100%). Drag the overlay by clicking and holding anywhere inside it. Resize it by dragging the bottom-right corner. Close the overlay with the × button.
QUOTE DATA EXTRACTION WITH PRICE COMPARISON AND PROVIDER RATING DETECTION
Unlike simple quote display tools, this extension uses a multi-selector extraction engine to find quote items, prices, ratings, and response times from Angi's varying page structures. It searches for quote items using multiple selector patterns (.quote-item, .provider-quote, .service-quote) and falls back to text parsing. Prices are extracted from price selectors using number parsing. Ratings are extracted from rating selectors using number parsing. Response times are extracted from response-time selectors. The lowest and highest quotes are identified by comparing all prices. Quote comparison history is stored as a key-value object where keys are project identifiers and values are arrays of quote records with timestamps, limited to 20 entries per project. Preferred providers are stored as an array of provider IDs and are displayed with a star icon.
THE PANEL
The panel supports drag-to-move anywhere on the page. It remembers its position per site, so it stays where you placed it on angi.com. Click the panel header to collapse it down to just the minimized bubble, or click the expand handle to show the full panel. The panel can be resized by dragging the bottom-right corner. Press the Escape key to close the expanded panel and return to the minimized state. All panel settings, including position, size, collapsed state, opacity, preferred providers, ratings visibility, and quote history, are saved per site and persist across browsing sessions.
PLEASE NOTE
This extension requires the free BotGentz extension to be installed and active, as it provides the underlying DOM injection and script execution environment. Angi's website changes periodically, and quote element structures, class names, and page layouts may be updated. When that happens, the extension may stop detecting quote data until an update is released. The extension stores your overlay position, size, opacity, visibility, preferred providers, ratings preference, and quote history locally in your browser's storage using GM_setValue. Quote history is stored as a key-value object where keys are project identifiers and values are arrays of quote records. The quote data displayed is read from the page—the extension does not access Angi's internal quote data. Always verify with Angi directly for the most accurate quote information. No data is ever sent to any server, and no personal information is collected. You can clear all stored settings at any time by clearing your browser data for angi.com.
