WHAT IT DOES

Focus Session Website Blocklist Timer helps you stay productive by tracking time on distracting websites and providing visual focus reminders. The script detects when you're on a blocked site (YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, etc.) and displays a floating timer badge with color-coded urgency: green when you're actively focusing, yellow when approaching a break, red when overdue, and purple when a session is complete. A full-screen overlay appears on blocked sites when a focus session is active, helping you stay on track. You can customize the focus session length (1-120 minutes) and break length (1-60 minutes). The blocklist is fully customizable with add/remove functionality. The dashboard shows focus session statistics including total sessions, minutes focused, day streaks, and recent session history. Focus sessions are automatically tracked and saved.

WHERE IT RUNS

This script runs on every website (matching all URLs), detecting blocked sites and tracking focus time across the entire web. It works on all pages and automatically adapts to each site. The timer and overlay appear on any page, making it a universal productivity tool.

HOW TO USE

After installing through the BotGentz extension, the script starts monitoring your browsing. A floating timer appears in the corner of the screen. On blocked sites, the timer displays "Site blocked" and can auto-start a focus session if enabled. Use the configuration panel to customize your experience: toggle the floating timer on or off, set focus session and break lengths in minutes, enable or disable auto-start on blocked sites, show or hide statistics, and set the reminder interval. The panel displays real-time statistics including total sessions, minutes focused, and day streak. Add or remove sites from the blocklist using the domain input field. Use the "Start Focus Session", "Take Break", and "End Session" buttons to manually control your focus time.

BLOCKLIST-BASED FOCUS TRACKING WITH REAL-TIME TIMER AND OVERLAY SYSTEM

This script implements a focus tracking system with a floating timer that updates every 200ms for smooth countdowns. The blocklist uses domain matching with substring matching to detect distracting sites. When a focus session is active and a blocked site is detected, a full-screen overlay appears with the remaining focus time and options to continue or end the session. The timer color-coding uses a four-state system: green for active focus (over 5 minutes remaining), yellow for approaching break (under 5 minutes), red for overdue (session complete), and purple for session completion. Session data is stored locally using GM_setValue with a structured format containing session dates, durations, and streak tracking. The statistics engine calculates total focus time, session count, and consecutive day streaks.

THE PANEL

The configuration panel is fully draggable and remembers its position per-site using GM_setValue. It snaps to screen edges when dragged near them, collapses to a compact bubble when minimized, and supports Escape key for quick collapse. All settings—including timer visibility, session lengths, auto-start, statistics display, and blocklist—are persisted across sessions.

This script requires the free BotGentz extension to run. The script runs on all websites and reads the current domain to check the blocklist. It does not capture, store, or transmit any personal information. All focus session data is stored locally in your browser using GM_setValue and never transmitted to external servers. The blocklist contains common distracting sites by default but is fully customizable. The script does not actually block websites—it provides visual reminders to help you stay focused.
