It works alongside the free BotGentz companion extension, which provides the necessary DOM access and page interaction capabilities. The price comparison tool runs entirely within your local browser instance and does not communicate with any external servers or APIs. All tee time data extraction, price comparison calculations, and preference storage occurs on your machine, ensuring your browsing activity and search preferences remain private. It supports all modern Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera) and Firefox when paired with the BotGentz bridge.

HOW TO USE

After installing both BotGentz and this price comparison tool, navigate to any GolfNow tee time search results page. Within 1-2 seconds, a panel appears in the bottom-right corner displaying a "Price Summary" section with the lowest, highest, average, and range of tee time prices. The "Best Value Tee Time" section highlights the most affordable option with a green badge, showing the time and per-player cost. The "All Tee Times" section lists every available tee time sorted by price, showing the time, total price, player count, per-player cost, and any booking fees. Hot deals are marked with a fire emoji. The "Price Alert" section lets you enter a dollar amount—the tool will check all tee times and show a notification if any are priced below your threshold. Your alert threshold is saved automatically and persists across sessions.

TEE TIME DATA EXTRACTION AND PRICE COMPARISON

The price comparison tool uses a multi-strategy extraction system to locate and parse tee time data from GolfNow's search result pages. It first attempts to find structured tee time elements using selectors based on GolfNow's typical class naming patterns, including "tee-time-card," "tee-time-item," "result-item," and "tee-time-result." When these selectors fail due to site updates, the tool falls back to scanning page elements that contain price indicators or time data. For each detected tee time, the tool extracts the course name from title elements or pattern matching for common golf course naming conventions, date and time through regex pattern matching for MM/DD/YYYY and HH:MM AM/PM formats, price through currency extraction ($XX.XX), player count through pattern matching for "players" or "golfers," and booking fees through pattern matching for "booking fee" or "fee." The comparison engine calculates per-player costs, identifies the best value, and computes summary statistics. Hot deals are identified through keyword detection for "Hot Deal" or "Best Price" labels.

THE PANEL

The price comparison panel is a compact, functional overlay that integrates into the GolfNow tee time page. It can be dragged by clicking and holding the title bar, positioning the panel anywhere on the screen for optimal visibility while you browse tee times. The panel includes a built-in snap feature that automatically aligns to the nearest screen edge when released within 48 pixels, keeping your workspace organized. Click the collapse arrow in the top-right corner to minimize the panel to a small icon bubble showing a gear emoji, preserving screen space while keeping the tool accessible. The panel is not resizable in this version, maintaining a consistent compact size that works on all screen resolutions. Press the Escape key to instantly hide the panel; press Escape again to restore it. All position, collapse state, and price alert threshold preferences are saved locally using GM_setValue and persist across browsing sessions.

This extension requires the free BotGentz extension to function—the price comparison tool does not work standalone. GolfNow occasionally updates its page layouts and tee time presentation formats, which may temporarily affect data extraction accuracy. The tool extracts tee time data from the visible page content; if tee times are loaded dynamically after page load, you may need to wait a moment or refresh the page for the panel to populate. Price comparisons are based on the data extracted from the current page view and may not reflect all available tee times. Price alerts are based on the current page data and are not live push notifications—you must be viewing the page to see the alert. The tool does not store or transmit any data; all tee time data, price comparisons, and settings are processed and saved entirely within your browser.
