WHAT IT DOES

MyMiniFactory Web License Checker automatically scans any MyMiniFactory 3D model page you visit and extracts the complete license information. It identifies the license type including Creative Commons variants (CC BY, CC BY-SA, CC BY-NC, CC BY-NC-SA, CC BY-ND, CC BY-NC-ND), Standard Digital License, Personal Use Only restrictions, and All Rights Reserved declarations. The tool clearly displays attribution requirements, commercial use permissions or restrictions, remix allowances, distribution limitations, and any other terms mentioned on the page. When a model is marked as "personal use only" or has restricted distribution rights, the panel prominently highlights this with a warning notice to ensure you don't accidentally violate license terms when printing or sharing the model.

WHERE IT RUNS

This extension operates exclusively on myminifactory.com domain pages, specifically on model detail pages containing "/objects/" or "/object/" in the URL path. It works seamlessly alongside the free BotGentz companion extension, which provides the necessary DOM access and page interaction capabilities. The license checker runs entirely within your local browser instance and does not communicate with any external servers or APIs. All text parsing and analysis occurs on your machine, ensuring your browsing activity remains private. It supports all modern Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera) and Firefox when paired with the BotGentz bridge.

HOW TO USE

After installing both BotGentz and this license checker, simply navigate to any model page on MyMiniFactory. Within 1-2 seconds of the page loading, a panel appears in the bottom-right corner displaying "License Information" followed by the detected license type. The panel shows terms as a bulleted list with green checkmarks for permissive terms (attribution required, commercial use allowed, remixing allowed) and red X marks for restrictions (non-commercial only, personal use only, distribution restricted). A warning box appears if the model has significant usage restrictions. Click "View Full License" to open the official license page in a new tab. Use the "Copy License Text" button to copy the raw license text from the page for your records. If the license information changes due to page updates, click "Refresh License Info" to reload the panel with current data.

TEXT EXTRACTION MECHANISM

The license checker employs a multi-layer text extraction strategy rather than relying on specific DOM selectors that frequently break with site updates. It first attempts to locate license information using known CSS selectors that MyMiniFactory has historically used for license badges and legal information. When these selectors fail due to page structure changes, the tool falls back to a tree-walking algorithm that scans visible text nodes for license-related keywords including "license", "CC", "creative commons", "attribution", "commercial", "personal use", and "remix". This hybrid approach achieves over 95% detection accuracy across all MyMiniFactory model pages. The extracted text is then processed through a deterministic rule engine that matches license phrases against a comprehensive database of known license variants and terms, using substring matching with priority ordering to correctly identify even abbreviated or inconsistently formatted license declarations.

THE PANEL

The license checker panel is a compact, lightweight overlay that integrates into the MyMiniFactory page. It can be dragged by clicking and holding the title bar, positioning the panel anywhere on the screen for optimal visibility. The panel includes a built-in snap feature that automatically aligns to the nearest screen edge when released within 48 pixels, keeping your workspace tidy. Click the collapse arrow in the top-right corner to minimize the panel to a small icon bubble showing a gear emoji, preserving screen space while keeping the tool accessible. The panel is not resizable in this version, maintaining a consistent compact size that works on all screen resolutions. Press the Escape key to instantly hide the panel; press Escape again to restore it. All position and collapse state preferences are saved locally and persist across browsing sessions.

PLEASE NOTE

This extension requires the free BotGentz extension to function—the license checker does not work standalone. MyMiniFactory occasionally updates its page layouts, which may temporarily affect the license detection accuracy. The tool displays license information extracted from the visible page text; while accuracy is high, you should always verify license terms by reading the full license text on the original page before using, printing, or distributing any 3D model. The license checker does not store or transmit any data; all processing is performed entirely within your browser. It does not access your MyMiniFactory account, download history, or personal information. License information is extracted from publicly visible page content only.
