About this app

WHAT IT DOES

PandaDoc Document View Tracker scans your PandaDoc document list pages and detail views, extracting comprehensive view activity including total views, unique viewers, page views, time spent per document, and viewer identities. It then displays view count badges next to each document name with visual intensity indicators—green for high engagement, yellow for moderate, blue for low, and gray for unviewed documents. The badges show total views, page views, and time spent at a glance. The extension highlights documents with high engagement and identifies those with no views, helping you spot which documents are performing and which need attention. A floating panel provides a view statistics summary, top viewed documents, viewer heatmap, and recent activity feed, giving you complete visibility into document engagement.

WHERE IT RUNS

This extension runs directly in your browser on any PandaDoc page that displays documents, including the main document dashboard, sent documents, received documents, draft lists, and individual document detail pages. It operates entirely client-side, reading the DOM structure of the current page without making external API calls or sending data to any third-party server. The extension works with PandaDoc's standard interface and adapts to dynamically loaded document data.

HOW TO USE

After installation, navigate to any PandaDoc document page. The extension automatically detects documents and applies view count badges next to each document name. The badge shows the number of views, page views, and time spent, color-coded by engagement level. Click the extension's toolbar icon to open the floating panel, which displays a view summary including total views, average views, viewed vs. unviewed counts, and high engagement documents. The panel also shows the top viewed documents and recent viewer activity. Adjust the "High views threshold" setting to customize what constitutes high engagement, and use "No views alert" to identify documents that have been unviewed for a specified number of days. Use the "Scan Now" button to manually refresh the data, and "Export No-Views List" to copy unviewed documents to your clipboard for follow-up.

THE REASON IT WORKS WHERE OTHERS DO NOT

Unlike generic view counters that rely on fixed selectors, this extension uses a heuristic extraction system that adapts to PandaDoc's evolving interface. It employs a multi-strategy approach that first attempts to locate view metrics using a prioritized selector chain, then falls back to text-based pattern matching that analyzes document metadata, viewer lists, and activity feeds. The view count detection uses multiple regex patterns to identify numeric values associated with view, read, or seen indicators. Viewer names are extracted by scanning for name patterns in activity sections, with deduplication logic to avoid counting the same viewer multiple times. The engagement scoring algorithm combines view count, page views, and time spent into a weighted engagement level, with configurable thresholds for high engagement detection. The extension also includes a DOM mutation observer with debounced re-scanning, ensuring that dynamically loaded documents are automatically incorporated without manual intervention.

THE PANEL

The floating panel is fully draggable via its title bar and remembers its last position per site using localStorage, restoring it on page reload. It snaps to viewport edges when dragged near them, keeping the panel accessible without blocking page content. The panel can be collapsed to a compact bubble by clicking the minimize button, and expanded again by clicking the same button or the extension's toolbar icon. Pressing the Escape key closes the panel; reopening is done via the toolbar icon. The panel automatically reappears when navigating between document views, maintaining your last position and settings. The summary area displays key view metrics in a compact grid, followed by a top-viewed documents list and a recent viewer activity feed, giving you a complete picture of document engagement at a glance.

PLEASE NOTE

This extension requires the free BotGentz extension to be installed and enabled, as it relies on BotGentz's DOM observation and injection permissions to operate within PandaDoc's dynamically updating interface. PandaDoc frequently updates its interface; when this happens, the extension may temporarily stop working until an update is released. Please check for updates regularly. All document view data processed by the extension remains strictly local to your browser—no data is transmitted, stored, or shared with any external service. View metrics are extracted from visible page content and may not reflect real-time database values available in PandaDoc's native analytics. This tool is designed as a visual aid for document engagement monitoring and should be used alongside PandaDoc's native reporting for critical business decisions.
