WHAT IT DOES

Product Hunt Launch Day Countdown Badge scans the current page for Product Hunt product listings, extracting product names, launch dates, upvote counts, and maker information from Product Hunt pages and upcoming launches. The floating panel shows countdown timers to upcoming launches with visual urgency indicators (green for far, yellow for soon, red for today). A summary shows launch dates, countdown to launch time, and launch day reminders. Add custom notes to launches and export launch data as CSV or text. Products launching soon are highlighted, and launch trends are tracked.

WHERE IT RUNS

Works exclusively on Product Hunt (producthunt.com) pages, including the home page, upcoming launches, and product pages. The script detects product listings using Product Hunt-specific selectors and extracts launch metadata. It works best on Product Hunt's product and launch pages.

HOW TO USE

The panel displays all detected products with their launch dates, upvotes, makers, and countdown timers. Click "Scan Products" to detect all products on the current page. Each product shows a countdown timer in days/hours/minutes until launch, color-coded by urgency (green for far, yellow for soon, orange for near, red for today). The summary shows counts of upcoming, today, and launched products. Add notes to any product for personal tracking. Export launch data as text for reference or sharing. The panel automatically shows countdown timers that update in real-time.

MECHANISM — PRODUCT EXTRACTION WITH COUNTDOWN CALCULATION

The script detects Product Hunt products by finding product containers using selectors (.product, .post, .product-item). From each container, it extracts the product name, launch date (parsed from date elements), upvote count, maker information, and tagline using targeted sub-selectors. Launch dates are parsed from various formats (MM/DD/YYYY, Month DD, YYYY). The countdown calculation computes the time difference between the current time and the launch date, displaying it in days/hours/minutes. Urgency color coding is based on days until launch: green (7+ days), yellow (4-6 days), orange (1-3 days), and red (today). The summary aggregates products by launch status. All extraction and calculation runs client-side with no network calls.

THE PANEL

The floating panel is fully draggable and remembers its position per domain. Click the minimize button to collapse it to a small bubble, or press Escape to hide it. The panel automatically adjusts to different screen sizes and can be resized to show more content. All settings, including notes and preferences, are saved per domain. The panel integrates smoothly with any page layout using the BGPanel framework, maintaining clean separation from page content.

PLEASE NOTE

This script requires the free BotGentz extension to run. It does not send any data to external servers; all extracted launch data, notes, and settings remain entirely local to your browser using GM_setValue. The script never reads password fields, hidden inputs, or file inputs. It stores only product names, launch dates, upvote counts, maker information, and user-entered notes from publicly visible Product Hunt page content. Launch detection depends on the page structure; if products are not detected, use the "Scan Products" button to refresh extraction. The script works exclusively on Product Hunt and detects pages by hostname. Countdown timers are for reference only; exact launch times may vary. Data persists across browser sessions and is isolated per browser profile.
