The panel highlights the top three most common pros and cons, saving you from reading through dozens of individual reviews to find the key points. This quick-glance summary helps you make faster, more informed purchasing decisions when browsing model kits.

This extension operates exclusively on scalemates.com domain pages, specifically on kit product pages and model listing pages. It works alongside the free BotGentz companion extension, which provides the necessary DOM access and page interaction capabilities. The review aggregator runs entirely within your local browser instance and does not communicate with any external servers or APIs. All review extraction, sentiment analysis, and aggregation occurs on your machine, ensuring your browsing activity remains private. It supports all modern Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera) and Firefox when paired with the BotGentz bridge.

HOW TO USE

After installing both BotGentz and this review aggregator, simply navigate to any Scalemates kit product page. Within 1-2 seconds, a panel appears in the bottom-right corner displaying the aggregated review summary. The "Summary" section shows the average rating out of 10 and the most common recommended skill level from reviewer comments. The "Sentiment Analysis" section displays color-coded bar charts for positive, neutral, and negative sentiment, giving you an at-a-glance view of community reception. The "Common Pros" and "Common Cons" sections show the top three most frequently mentioned positive and negative points across all reviews. The "Build Experience" section extracts and displays notable build experience comments from reviewers. The panel also includes toggles to show or hide the sentiment analysis and auto-expand the summary for quick reference. All settings are saved and persist across sessions.

SENTIMENT ANALYSIS AND AGGREGATION MECHANISM

The review aggregator uses a multi-stage processing pipeline to extract and analyze review data. First, it locates review elements on the page using a comprehensive set of CSS selectors that adapt to Scalemates' page structure. For each review, the tool extracts ratings through pattern matching for "X/10" scores, star ratings, and rating keywords. When explicit ratings are not available, the tool performs keyword-based inference by scanning for terms like "excellent," "good," "average," "poor," or "terrible" and mapping them to approximate scores. For sentiment analysis, the tool maintains curated dictionaries of positive, negative, and neutral words, then counts occurrences of each category to generate percentage-based sentiment distribution. Pros and cons are extracted using pattern matching for common phrases like "Pros:" or "Cons:" and marker symbols like "+" and "-". The aggregation step compiles all extracted data across reviews, calculates averages, identifies the most frequently mentioned pros and cons through frequency counting, and determines the most commonly recommended skill level through keyword detection across review texts.

THE PANEL

The review aggregator panel is a compact, functional overlay that integrates into the Scalemates product page. It can be dragged by clicking and holding the title bar, positioning the panel anywhere on the screen for optimal visibility while you browse kits. The panel includes a built-in snap feature that automatically aligns to the nearest screen edge when released within 48 pixels, keeping your workspace organized. Click the collapse arrow in the top-right corner to minimize the panel to a small icon bubble showing a gear emoji, preserving screen space while keeping the tool accessible. The panel is not resizable in this version, maintaining a consistent compact size that works on all screen resolutions. Press the Escape key to instantly hide the panel; press Escape again to restore it. All position, collapse state, and toggle preferences are saved locally using GM_setValue and persist across browsing sessions.

PLEASE NOTE

This extension requires the free BotGentz extension to function—the review aggregator does not work standalone. Scalemates occasionally updates its page layouts, which may temporarily affect review extraction accuracy. The tool extracts reviews from the visible page content and may not detect reviews that are loaded dynamically or hidden behind pagination. Sentiment analysis is keyword-based and may not capture nuance, sarcasm, or context in reviewer comments—the sentiment percentages should be interpreted as general indicators, not absolute measures. The extracted pros, cons, and build comments are based on pattern matching and may occasionally include false positives. The tool does not store or transmit any data; all review extraction, analysis, and aggregation is performed entirely within your browser.
