Build Browser Tools (Userscripts)

What this is

Browser tools are the smallest, most common thing built on BotGentz — focused scripts that run on a specific website and do one thing well: fill a form, extract data, add a missing feature. They're stored in the tamper_apps table with app_kind set to 'userscript', and the actual code lives in the install_code field, deployed to a user's browser the same way any tamper-monkey-style script runs.

How it works

You write the script, submit it through the admin panel, and it becomes installable from the BotSurf catalog like any other app. There's no separate hosting or distribution to manage — install_code storage and deployment is handled by the platform, and category/platform assignment, featured placement, and icon/screenshot uploads (via bg_bucket_upload()) are all part of the same submission flow every app type uses.
Holding BOT for this path

As the ecosystem matures, publishing a userscript to the catalog is expected to require holding BOT — the same way a consumer can hold BOT instead of paying a subscription, a developer will hold BOT to get and keep publishing access. This isn't a payment for the tool itself; it's closer to a stake that keeps you an active, verified part of the developer ecosystem rather than a one-time fee.
