About this app

WHAT IT DOES

Airbnb Host Response Time Badge automatically detects host response time information on Airbnb listing pages and displays a compact, color-coded badge showing how quickly the host typically responds. The badge categorizes response times into five levels: Very Fast (within an hour), Fast (within a few hours), Medium (within a day), Slow (within a few days), and Very Slow (within a week). Each category has a distinct color — green for fast, yellow for medium, orange for slow, and red for very slow — giving you an immediate visual indicator of host responsiveness before you book.

WHERE IT RUNS

This extension works exclusively on Airbnb at www.airbnb.com. It functions on listing pages where host information is displayed, including the main listing view and any page showing host details. The tool works across all Airbnb regions and adapts to dynamically loaded content.

HOW TO USE

Install the extension and navigate to any Airbnb listing page. A compact response time badge appears near the host information or listing header showing the host's response time category. Use the overlay panel to customize the experience: toggle the response badge on or off, choose between Default (colored) or Minimal (subtle) color schemes, and select the badge position (Top-right of host info or Inline with host name). Click "Refresh Badge" to manually update the badge after the page loads or changes. The status area shows the detected response time text.

TECHNICAL SECTION — RESPONSE TIME DETECTION AND CATEGORIZATION

The extension uses a multi-strategy detection engine to find host response time information on Airbnb pages. It queries known response time selectors including .host-response-time, .response-time, and [data-testid="host-response-time"]. If no specific selector matches, it scans the page text for response-related patterns using regex. Once the response time text is found, it is parsed and categorized into five levels based on keywords and time units. Color schemes map each category to a background and text color for visual distinction. The badge is created using DOM manipulation with inline CSS and positioned near the host information or listing header. All settings are persisted locally using GM_setValue.

THE PANEL — DRAG / PER-SITE POSITION / SNAP / COLLAPSE / RESIZE / ESCAPE

The overlay panel is fully interactive and designed for seamless multitasking. Drag it anywhere on the screen using the handle at the top of the panel; the position is saved per site so it stays where you left it across sessions. The panel includes a snap-to-edge feature that gently anchors the overlay to the nearest screen edge when released. Click the collapse button to minimize the panel to a compact pill showing the current response status; expand it again with a single click. Resize the panel vertically by dragging the bottom-right corner to view more controls. Press the Escape key at any time to instantly close the overlay; it reappears on the next page navigation or refresh.

PLEASE NOTE

This extension requires the free BotGentz companion extension to function, as it provides the underlying content script injection and cross-origin communication framework. No personal data, browsing history, or listing data is stored, transmitted, or shared. Settings are stored locally in your browser using GM_setValue and are never sent to any external server. The extension does not access or store login credentials, financial data, or personally identifiable information. The tool reads host response time information visible on the page and does not access Airbnb's API or any private data. Airbnb may update its page structure; the extension includes multiple detection strategies to maintain compatibility, but major redesigns may temporarily affect response time detection. The badge is a visual aid based on publicly displayed response time information and should not be the sole factor in booking decisions.
