WHAT IT DOES

Antique Marketplace Provenance Note Organizer scans the current page for antique marketplace listings, extracting item titles, prices, seller names, and descriptions. The floating panel allows attaching and organizing provenance notes, condition observations, and research links to listings. Add text notes, condition ratings, estimated age, and tracking URLs to items. A persistent note history per domain with search and filtering helps track research across sessions. Notes can be exported as JSON or text for offline reference. Items with existing notes are highlighted, and quick access is provided to edit or delete notes. Collectors and dealers can track provenance and research across multiple listings with ease.

WHERE IT RUNS

Works on any antique marketplace page, including eBay, Ruby Lane, 1stDibs, Chairish, LiveAuctioneers, and other antique and collectible platforms. The script detects listing items using common selectors and can also fall back to general card-like elements. It works best on pages with structured item listings.

HOW TO USE

The panel displays all detected listings on the current page. Click "Scan Listings" to detect items from the page. Each listing shows its title, price, seller, and any existing notes. Click "Add Note" to open the note editor, where you can enter text notes, select a type (Research, Condition, Provenance, General), add a tag, and include a URL. Saved notes appear as previews on the listing card. The Note History section shows recent notes chronologically. Export notes as JSON or text for offline reference. The panel automatically scans on page load and highlights listings with existing notes.

MECHANISM — LISTING DETECTION WITH PERSISTENT NOTE STORAGE

The script uses a multi-strategy approach to detect antique listings. It first attempts to find listing containers using common marketplace selectors (.listing-item, .product-card). From each container, it extracts title, price, seller, and description using targeted sub-selectors. If container-based detection fails, it falls back to scanning for card-like elements. Each listing is assigned a unique ID based on title, seller, and URL domain, allowing notes to persist across page loads and domains. Notes are stored locally with timestamps, types, tags, and URLs. The note history is searchable and filterable by type and tag, and notes are displayed with color-coded type indicators.

THE PANEL

The floating panel is fully draggable and remembers its position per domain. Click the minimize button to collapse it to a small bubble, or press Escape to hide it. The panel automatically adjusts to different screen sizes and can be resized to show more content. All notes and settings are saved per domain. The panel integrates smoothly with any page layout using the BGPanel framework, maintaining clean separation from page content.

PLEASE NOTE

This script requires the free BotGentz extension to run. It does not send any data to external servers; all notes, settings, and listing data remain entirely local to your browser using GM_setValue. The script never reads password fields, hidden inputs, or file inputs. It stores only listing titles, prices, seller names, descriptions, and user-entered notes from publicly visible page content. Listing detection depends on the page structure; if items are not detected, use the "Scan Listings" button to refresh extraction. Data persists across browser sessions and is isolated per browser profile.
