About this app
WHAT IT DOES
BoardGameGeek Play Count Tracker Overlay helps you understand your gaming habits by tracking play counts for every game in your BoardGameGeek collection. The script extracts play count data from your profile page, including total plays, last played date, and average play time for each game. A visible badge shows your total plays across all games. A play frequency chart visualizes your gaming activity over the months. The most played games are displayed with their play counts, helping you identify your favorites. The dashboard provides a summary of total play time and average plays per game. Games with recent plays are highlighted so you can see what you've been playing lately. Monthly play statistics show your gaming patterns over time. You can export all play count data for record-keeping or analysis.
WHERE IT RUNS
This script runs on BoardGameGeek, specifically on profile pages, collection views, and play log pages. It works on both desktop and mobile views, automatically detecting play data from the page.
HOW TO USE
After installing through the BotGentz extension, navigate to your BoardGameGeek profile or collection page. The script automatically scans your play data and displays a play count badge. Open the configuration panel to view the full dashboard—total plays, games played, average plays per game, monthly play chart, most played games, and a complete list of games with play counts. Use the configuration panel to customize your experience: toggle the play count badge on or off, show or hide the play frequency chart, show or hide the most played games list, show or hide trends, and set the auto-refresh interval in seconds. Use the "Scan Plays" button to manually re-scan, or "Export Data" to copy a complete play count report to your clipboard.
PLAY DATA EXTRACTION WITH FREQUENCY ANALYSIS AND STATISTICAL TRACKING
This script implements a play data extraction engine using DOM traversal with platform-specific selectors for BoardGameGeek's play elements (.collection-item, .game-item, .play-item). The engine extracts game names, play counts, last played dates, and play times from collection page elements using multiple selector strategies with fallback patterns. The statistics engine calculates total plays, games with plays, average plays per game, and identifies the most played games. The monthly chart engine aggregates plays by month and renders a visual bar chart. The trend tracking identifies games with the most plays and recent play activity. The export generator produces a formatted report with all play data and statistics.
THE PANEL
The configuration panel is fully draggable and remembers its position per-site using GM_setValue. It snaps to screen edges when dragged near them, collapses to a compact bubble when minimized, and supports Escape key for quick collapse. All settings—including badge visibility, chart display, most played list visibility, trends visibility, and auto-refresh interval—are persisted across sessions.
PLEASE NOTE
This script requires the free BotGentz extension to run. The script runs on BoardGameGeek and reads play data from profile and collection pages. It does not capture, store, or transmit any personal information. All play data is processed locally in your browser and never transmitted to external servers. The script reads only publicly visible play information displayed on the page. Due to BoardGameGeek's page structure, some play data may not be available on all profile pages. This tool is provided for informational and entertainment purposes only.
