WHAT IT DOES

Bonsai Web Invoice Status Tracker automatically scans Bonsai invoice and billing pages to extract comprehensive invoice data including invoice number, client name, invoice amount, due date, payment status (Paid, Pending, Overdue, Draft, Cancelled), and invoice status. The tool displays a floating overlay panel showing a summary of invoice status with color-coded indicators—green for Paid, yellow for Pending, red for Overdue, gray for Draft, and dark gray for Cancelled. Summary statistics show total invoice amount, number of paid invoices, and number of overdue invoices. Quick stats show total invoices, pending amount, overdue amount, and paid amount. Invoices are sorted by status priority with overdue invoices shown first, followed by pending, paid, draft, and cancelled. Each invoice displays its number, client name, amount, due date, and status badge. This provides a complete, organized view of your Bonsai invoice statuses and helps you track payments.

WHERE IT RUNS

This extension operates exclusively on bonsai.com domain pages that contain invoice and billing content—specifically pages with "/invoice", "/invoices", "/billing", or "/payments" in the URL path, or pages that display invoice listings and payment information. It works alongside the free BotGentz companion extension, which provides the necessary DOM access and page interaction capabilities. The invoice status tracker runs entirely within your local browser instance and does not communicate with any external servers or APIs. All invoice data extraction, status analysis, and preference storage are processed and stored on your machine, ensuring your financial data and tracking preferences remain private. It supports all modern Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera) and Firefox when paired with the BotGentz bridge.

HOW TO USE

After installing both BotGentz and this invoice tracker, navigate to any Bonsai invoice or billing page. Within 1-2 seconds, a panel appears in the bottom-right corner displaying a summary with total amount, paid count, and overdue count. The "Invoices" section lists each invoice with its number, client name, amount, due date, and status badge (color-coded). Overdue invoices are shown first for immediate attention. The "Quick Stats" section shows total invoices, pending amount, overdue amount, and paid amount. The panel provides a complete, organized view of your invoice statuses and helps you track payment progress.

INVOICE DATA EXTRACTION AND STATUS TRACKING

The invoice status tracker uses a multi-strategy extraction system to locate and parse invoice data from Bonsai pages. It first attempts to find structured invoice elements using selectors based on the site's typical class naming patterns, including "invoice-item," "invoice-card," "invoice-row," and "billing-item." When these selectors fail due to site updates, the tool falls back to text-based parsing, scanning the page for invoice-related patterns using pattern matching for invoice numbers, amounts, dates, and status labels. Invoice numbers are extracted through pattern matching for "invoice #" labels or alphanumeric codes. Client names are extracted through pattern matching for "client:" or "customer:" labels or element selectors. Invoice amounts are extracted through pattern matching for dollar values. Due dates are extracted through pattern matching for "due:" or "due date" labels with date formats. Payment status is determined through keyword detection for "Paid," "Pending," "Overdue," "Draft," or "Cancelled." Invoices are sorted by status priority with overdue invoices displayed first. Summary statistics are calculated from the extracted invoice data. All data is presented in a clean, organized panel with color-coded indicators.

THE PANEL

The invoice status tracker panel is a compact, functional overlay that integrates into the Bonsai invoice page. It can be dragged by clicking and holding the title bar, positioning the panel anywhere on the screen for optimal visibility while you track your invoices. The panel includes a built-in snap feature that automatically aligns to the nearest screen edge when released within 48 pixels, keeping your workspace organized. Click the collapse arrow in the top-right corner to minimize the panel to a small icon bubble showing a gear emoji, preserving screen space while keeping the tool accessible. The panel is not resizable in this version, maintaining a consistent compact size that works on all screen resolutions. Press the Escape key to instantly hide the panel; press Escape again to restore it. All position, collapse state, and invoice tracking preferences are saved locally using GM_setValue and persist across browsing sessions.

PLEASE NOTE

This extension requires the free BotGentz extension to function—the invoice status tracker does not work standalone. Bonsai occasionally updates its page layouts and invoice presentation formats, which may temporarily affect invoice data extraction accuracy. The tool extracts invoice data from the visible page content; if invoice information is loaded dynamically after page load, you may need to wait a moment or refresh the page for the panel to populate. Invoice statuses are based on extracted data and are provided as a reference—always verify your actual invoice status on the official Bonsai platform. The tool does not store or transmit any data; all invoice data extraction, status analysis, and settings are processed and saved entirely within your browser.
