About this app
WHAT IT DOES
This userscript helps you control audio from multiple browser tabs by bulk-muting or unmuting them. It scans any webpage for visible tab-like elements, hyperlinks, or a list of open tabs (e.g., in tab management pages, browser extensions, or tab lists), extracts page titles and URLs, displays a list of tabs with checkboxes, and allows you to select multiple tabs to toggle mute/unmute. It shows the number of tabs selected, and maintains a list of already toggled tabs to avoid duplicates. The script simulates the mute action by generating mute instructions or marking tabs for mute/unmute.
WHERE IT RUNS
The script works on any webpage with links, tab elements, or tab lists—tab management pages, browser extension interfaces, or any page with a list of URLs. It runs entirely within your browser, reading only the visible content of the current page. It does not track your browsing history, access other tabs, or send any data externally. All tab data and toggle history are stored locally.
HOW TO USE
After installation, open the panel by clicking the tool's icon in the BotGentz sidebar. Click "Scan for tabs" to extract tabs from the current page. The panel displays a list of tabs with checkboxes, showing the title and URL preview. Select the tabs you want to mute or unmute—use "Select All" to choose all. Click "Mute Selected" to mute the selected tabs, or "Unmute Selected" to unmute them. Click "Export Selected" to download a text file with the selected tab information. Use "Clear History" to reset the toggle history.
THE TECHNICAL MECHANISM
This script uses DOM traversal to extract links and tab-like elements from the page. It scans for anchor tags with href attributes, elements with data-url or data-link attributes, and elements with "tab" class names or role="tab". It extracts the page title and URL for each tab, deduplicates by URL, and displays them in a checklist. The script stores the toggle history in GM_setValue so you don't see already-toggled tabs in future scans. The mute and unmute actions are simulated—the script tracks which tabs have been muted or unmuted rather than actually controlling browser audio. The export function creates a plain text file with the selected tab information. All operations are client-side and do not send any data externally.
THE PANEL
The panel is draggable anywhere on the screen and remembers its position between sessions. It can be collapsed to a small floating bubble to minimize distraction, and expanded again with a single click. The panel's width can be adjusted, and pressing the Escape key closes it instantly. All settings—toggle history and auto-scan preference—are persisted locally using GM_setValue, so your data remains intact across page reloads and browser restarts.
PLEASE NOTE
This userscript requires the free BotGentz extension to function. The script extracts tabs from page text—it may not capture all open tabs. The script helps you track which tabs you've muted or unmuted—it does not actually control browser audio. The extraction relies on the current structure of the page—if the page uses a different tab format, the script may need to be updated. The script does not access your browser's tab API; it only reads what is visible on the page. No data from your browsing is stored or transmitted anywhere—all processing occurs entirely in your browser.
