About this app

WHAT IT DOES

This tool connects to your MetaMask wallet and checks ERC-20 token balances for any tokens you specify. You provide the token contract addresses (one per line), and the tool queries each token's balanceOf, symbol, and decimals from the blockchain. It then displays the balances in a clean list showing the token symbol and formatted amount. The tool works across all EVM networks — Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, BNB Chain, Avalanche, Optimism, and more. All processing happens locally — no data is sent to any server.

HOW TO USE

Connect your MetaMask wallet using the Connect button. In the text area, enter the contract addresses of the ERC-20 tokens you want to check, one per line. Use the preset buttons (USDC, DAI, USDT, WETH, UNI, LINK) to quickly add common token addresses. Click "Check Token Balances" to fetch the balances from the blockchain. The results will appear in a list showing each token's symbol and formatted balance. Use "Clear" to reset the input and results.

TECHNICAL MECHANISM

The tool uses the BGWallet bridge to access the blockchain provider via ethers.js. For each token address you provide, it creates a contract instance using a minimal ERC-20 ABI containing balanceOf, symbol, and decimals. It then calls balanceOf(address) with your wallet address to get the raw balance as a BigNumber, symbol() to get the token ticker, and decimals() to determine the token's divisibility. The raw balance is formatted using ethers.utils.formatUnits(balance, decimals) to display the human-readable amount. The tool processes tokens sequentially to respect RPC rate limits and displays progress as it fetches each token. If a token contract does not implement the standard ERC-20 interface or reverts on any call, the tool displays an error for that token and continues with the remaining addresses.

WHAT IT CANNOT SEE

This tool cannot read token balances without user-provided token contract addresses — it does not automatically discover all tokens held by a wallet without an external indexer. It cannot read balances from non-EVM networks like Solana, Bitcoin, or Tron. It cannot read balances from disconnected or inactive wallets. It cannot provide historical balance data or balance changes over time. It cannot display token balances in fiat currency without external price data. It cannot detect tokens that are not standard ERC-20 tokens (e.g., ERC-721 NFTs, ERC-1155, or non-standard implementations). It cannot read balances on private networks or networks not supported by the RPC provider. It cannot verify if a token is a legitimate project or a scam.

PLEASE NOTE

This tool works only with EVM-compatible wallets connected via the BGWallet bridge. Token balances are displayed for the network you are currently connected to — switch networks to view balances on different chains. The tool does not store or transmit any data — all processing occurs in your browser. Always verify token contract addresses from official sources before checking balances. This tool is provided as a utility and does not provide price data, portfolio tracking, or trading functionality. For comprehensive token discovery, consider using a dedicated portfolio tracker with indexing capabilities.
