About this app

WHAT IT DOES

AI-powered cover letter achievement highlighter that extracts key achievements and accomplishments from resumes and cover letters. The script reads a cover letter or resume from the current page—content, experience, skills, and achievements—and identifies notable accomplishments that should be highlighted. The AI analyzes the content to extract quantifiable results, impactful contributions, and key achievements, presenting them with suggested emphasis and phrasing for use in cover letters, interviews, or performance reviews. You can customize the highlight count (3/5/7), format (bulleted/paragraph/table), and toggle inclusion of metrics, action verbs, impact statements, and context. The user reviews the output before copying or using it.

WHERE IT RUNS

Works on all cover letter and resume pages (match pattern *://*/*), including resume builder sites, document viewers, PDF viewer pages, and any page containing cover letter or resume content.

HOW TO USE

Install the script and navigate to any cover letter or resume page. The Cover Letter Achievement Highlighter appears in the panel. Configure your preferred highlight count, format, and toggle inclusion of metrics, action verbs, impact statements, and context using the settings controls. Click "Highlight" to analyze the current page. The AI extracts achievements and presents them in the selected format. Review the output in the panel. Click "Copy to Clipboard" to copy the achievements for use in your cover letter, interview preparation, or application materials. Adjust the settings and regenerate if you want a different number of achievements or format.

REAL MECHANISM: DOM CONTENT EXTRACTION WITH AI ACHIEVEMENT IDENTIFICATION AND REVIEW GATE

This script uses a hybrid extraction approach that prioritizes structured content when available. First, it checks for WebMCP (navigator.modelContext), a W3C proposal that exposes structured tools on the page. If available, it calls getContent() to obtain structured resume data. If WebMCP is not present—the common case today—it falls back to DOM scraping using targeted selectors for resume sections (cover-letter, resume, cv, cover-content, resume-content, experience, achievements, highlights, professional-summary, work-experience, skills-section, and profile-summary). It also scans for achievement keywords (achieved, accomplished, delivered, improved, increased, reduced, saved, led, managed, created, developed, implemented) in paragraphs and headings. The extracted text is sent to an AI backend via GM_xmlhttpRequest, which processes it with a system prompt that includes the user's highlight count, format preference, and inclusion preferences. The AI returns a list of key achievements (3-7 items, up to 200 words total) with suggested emphasis and phrasing. The response is displayed in a bordered container for review before copying. Copy-to-clipboard uses GM_setClipboard. All settings (highlightCount, format, includeMetrics, includeActionVerbs, includeImpact, includeContext) are persisted via GM_setValue. The script enforces a review-before-use pattern: the user must read and approve the AI output before copying it.

THE PANEL

Drag the panel anywhere on screen by clicking and holding the header. It snaps to screen edges when released. Collapse it to a small bubble by clicking the minimize button, and expand it back by clicking the bubble. Resize the panel from any corner. Press Escape to close the configuration panel. Your position and size preferences are saved automatically per site.

PLEASE NOTE

This script requires the free BotGentz browser extension and an active AI subscription for the highlight service. AI-generated achievements should be reviewed for accuracy before use—the AI may misinterpret content or miss important accomplishments. The script reads the current page content and sends it to the AI backend for processing; no data is stored or logged. Websites change frequently; if the script stops detecting resume content, check for updates to the extraction selectors.
