About this app
WHAT IT DOES
Data Broker Opt-Out Link Finder helps you take control of your online privacy by automatically finding opt-out, privacy request, and data removal links on any webpage you visit. The script scans pages for links containing keywords like "opt-out", "do not sell my personal information", "privacy request", "data removal", "unsubscribe", "cookie preferences", "GDPR", and "CCPA". A visible badge shows the number of opt-out opportunities found on the page. Each detected link is displayed in a list with its text, type (Opt-Out, Privacy, Cookie Preferences, Unsubscribe, or Data Removal), and a button to open it instantly. Links are highlighted on the page with a distinctive border and icon for easy visual scanning. Results are cached per domain so you don't need to re-scan on repeat visits.
WHERE IT RUNS
This script runs on every website (matching all URLs), scanning for privacy and opt-out links across the entire web. It works on any page with links—company websites, data broker sites, email newsletters, e-commerce stores, and more. The script automatically adapts to each page and handles both static and dynamically loaded content.
HOW TO USE
After installing through the BotGentz extension, simply browse the web as usual. The script automatically scans each page for opt-out and privacy links. A badge appears in the corner showing the number of links found. Open the configuration panel to view the full list of detected links—each entry shows the link text, its type, and an "Open" button to navigate directly to the opt-out page. Use the panel to customize your experience: toggle the opt-out badge on or off, highlight links on the page, enable or disable auto-detection, adjust the highlight color, enable or disable caching, and include or exclude unsubscribe links. Use the "Scan for Opt-Out Links" button to manually re-scan, "Clear Highlights" to remove visual markers, or "Clear Cache" to reset stored links for the current domain.
KEYWORD-BASED LINK DETECTION WITH TYPE CLASSIFICATION AND DOMAIN CACHING
This script implements a privacy link detection engine using a comprehensive keyword dictionary covering opt-out, privacy request, data removal, cookie preferences, unsubscribe, and consumer rights terms (CCPA, GDPR, CPRA). The detection engine scans all anchor elements, checking link text, href attributes, and parent element text for keyword matches. Each detected link is classified into one of five types—Opt-Out, Privacy, Cookie Preferences, Unsubscribe, or Data Removal—based on keyword patterns. The caching system stores detected links per domain using GM_setValue, enabling instant results on repeat visits without re-scanning. The highlight engine applies visual markers to detected links with configurable colors.
THE PANEL
The configuration panel is fully draggable and remembers its position per-site using GM_setValue. It snaps to screen edges when dragged near them, collapses to a compact bubble when minimized, and supports Escape key for quick collapse. All settings—including badge visibility, link highlighting, auto-detection, highlight color, caching, and unsubscribe inclusion—are persisted across sessions.
PLEASE NOTE
This script requires the free BotGentz extension to run. The script runs on all websites and scans page links for privacy-related keywords. It does not capture, store, or transmit any personal information. Link data may be cached locally using GM_setValue for performance and never transmitted to external servers. The script detects links based on text and URL keywords—it does not verify whether the linked page actually processes opt-out requests. Always review the linked page to ensure it meets your privacy needs. This tool is provided for informational and organizational purposes only.
