About this app

WHAT IT DOES

DocuSign Web Envelope Expiry Countdown automatically scans DocuSign envelope status and signing pages to extract comprehensive envelope data including envelope name, status, expiry date, days remaining, sender name, recipient statuses (Sent, Delivered, Signed, Completed, Declined), and signing order. The tool displays a floating overlay panel showing a countdown to envelope expiry with color-coded urgency indicators—green for 14+ days, yellow for 7-13 days, orange for 4-6 days, and red for 3 days or less. Envelopes that are expiring soon are highlighted for immediate attention. Individual recipient signing progress is shown with color-coded statuses. The panel provides quick access to pending signing actions and envelope tracking information. A "Copy Envelope Info" button copies all envelope details to your clipboard. This provides a complete, organized view of your DocuSign envelope expiry status and signing progress.

WHERE IT RUNS

This extension operates exclusively on docusign.com domain pages that contain envelope status and signing content—specifically pages with "/envelope", "/documents", "/status", or "/manage" in the URL path, or pages that display envelope status and recipient information. It works alongside the free BotGentz companion extension, which provides the necessary DOM access and page interaction capabilities. The expiry countdown runs entirely within your local browser instance and does not communicate with any external servers or APIs. All envelope data extraction, countdown calculation, and tracking preferences are processed and stored on your machine, ensuring your document data and tracking activity remain private. It supports all modern Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera) and Firefox when paired with the BotGentz bridge.

HOW TO USE

After installing both BotGentz and this expiry countdown, navigate to any DocuSign envelope status or signing page. Within 1-2 seconds, a panel appears in the bottom-right corner displaying the envelope name, status, sender, and envelope ID. The "Expiry Countdown" section shows the number of days remaining with color-coded urgency. The "Recipients" section lists each recipient with their name, email, and status color-coded for quick reference. The "Signing Order" section shows the recipient signing sequence when multiple recipients are present. The "Copy Envelope Info" button copies all envelope information to your clipboard. The panel helps you stay on top of envelope expirations and signing progress.

ENVELOPE DATA EXTRACTION AND EXPIRY COUNTDOWN

The expiry countdown uses a multi-strategy extraction system to locate and parse envelope data from DocuSign pages. It first attempts to find structured envelope elements using selectors based on the site's typical class naming patterns, including envelope status, recipient items, and signing order elements. When these selectors fail due to site updates, the tool falls back to text-based parsing, scanning the page for envelope-related patterns using pattern matching for terms like "envelope," "status," "expiry," "expires," "sender," "recipient," and "signer." The envelope name is extracted from title elements or through pattern matching. Status is determined through keyword detection for "Sent," "Delivered," "Completed," "Declined," or "Voided." The expiry date is extracted through pattern matching for date formats, and days remaining is calculated by comparing the expiry date to the current date. Recipients are extracted from recipient containers or through pattern matching for "recipient:" or "signer:" labels, with their statuses determined through keyword detection. The signing order is constructed by sequencing recipient names in the order they appear.

THE PANEL

The expiry countdown panel is a compact, functional overlay that integrates into the DocuSign envelope page. It can be dragged by clicking and holding the title bar, positioning the panel anywhere on the screen for optimal visibility while you track your envelopes. The panel includes a built-in snap feature that automatically aligns to the nearest screen edge when released within 48 pixels, keeping your workspace organized. Click the collapse arrow in the top-right corner to minimize the panel to a small icon bubble showing a gear emoji, preserving screen space while keeping the tool accessible. The panel is not resizable in this version, maintaining a consistent compact size that works on all screen resolutions. Press the Escape key to instantly hide the panel; press Escape again to restore it. All position, collapse state, and tracking preferences are saved locally using GM_setValue and persist across browsing sessions.

PLEASE NOTE

This extension requires the free BotGentz extension to function—the expiry countdown does not work standalone. DocuSign occasionally updates its page layouts and envelope presentation formats, which may temporarily affect envelope data extraction accuracy. The tool extracts envelope data from the visible page content; if envelope status information is loaded dynamically after page load, you may need to wait a moment or refresh the page for the panel to populate. The countdown is calculated based on the extracted expiry date and is provided for informational purposes—always verify your actual envelope expiry date on the official DocuSign platform. Recipient statuses are extracted from the page and are for reference only. The tool does not store or transmit any data; all envelope data extraction, countdown calculations, and settings are processed and saved entirely within your browser. This tool is designed for personal document tracking and is not affiliated with or endorsed by DocuSign or its parent company. DocuSign envelopes contain legally binding documents; always review your official DocuSign account and follow all instructions provided by the platform.
